AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH,
FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 6-17 OF THE
CODE OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA (ORDINA~CE
NI~BER 241 AND ORDINANCE NU~ER 77~5) T0
PROVIDE FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF AN ALTER-
NATE M~-~ER OF SAID BOARD.
~EREAS, The City Council of the City of BoYnton Beach,
Florida, is desirous of amending Section 6-17 of the Code of
Boynton Beach, Florida, to orovide for the appointment of an
alternate member to said Board to serve in the absence or dis-
ability of one of the regular members~
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE= CITY COUNCIL OF TH!
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That Section 6-17 is amended as follows~
by inserting the following language following the word "persons"
in line 3, ~'together with one (1) alternate ~ho shall serve in the
absence or disability of a regular member of the Board"~
As amended, the ~irst sentence of Section 6-17 shall
read as follows: "There is hereby created and established a
board of governors of the Municioal Cemetery fund, which shall
consist of the city. clerk, five (5) other persons and one (1)
alternate, who shall be appointed by the city council to serve
for terms of one year from date of appo~ntment~"
Section 2. The remaining orovisions of Section 6-17
of the Code are ratified and reaffirmed~
Section 3. That should any section or orovision of this
Ordinance or any-portion thereof be declared by a Court of com-
oetent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect
th~ rem~ainder of this Ordinance~
Section 4. Ail ordinances or parts of ordinances in con
flict ~erewith are ~herebv repealed.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.
