O79-29AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR
USE OF FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING FUNDS.
PREAMBLE
This Ordinance is deemed to be an emergency measure
providing for the immediate preservation of public peace, property~
health or safety, and for the daily operation of the Municipal
Police Department.
WHEREAS Ordinance 73-27 provided for use of Federal
Revenue Sharing Funds for Capital Expenses excluding the ten per
cent (10%) of such funds to be allocated for ordinary and
necessary maintenance and operating expenses for social services
for the poor and aged; and
WHEREkS it was deemed desirable and appropriate in Fiscal
Year 1978/79 to use $176,000 of Federal Revenue Sharing Funds
for the first full year Boynton Beach share of Cooperative
Dispatch Center funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: It is now found that the one time expense of
$176,000 for the Cooperative Dispatch Center is an appropriate
use of Federal Revenue Sharing Funds for this initial full year
payment of the Cooperative Dispatch Center, a major necessary
expense involved in a program of required reorganization of
Police Department communications.
Section 2: Effective Date: This Ordinance is deemed to
be an emergency measure and shall take effect~immediately upon
passage.
