A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING
JOB DESCRIPTIONS AND PAY GRADES FOR THE
FOLLOWING POSITIONS: UTILITY CUSTOMER
SERVICE SUPERVISOR, CHIEF OPERATOR OF PUBLIC
WATER OPERATIONS, AND PERSONNEL ANALYST AS
SET FORTH IN COMPOSITE EXHIBIT "A" ATTACHED
HERETO; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City COmmission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida deems
it to be in the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City to add the following
job descriptions and pay grades to the pay plan for fiscal year 1993/94: Utility
Customer Servic~ Supervisor is a title change only from Supervisor of Meter Reading
Services, no grade change; Chief Operator of Public Water Operation is a title change
only from Assistant Supervisor of Public Water Operations, no grade change;
Personnel Analyst, Grade 25.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida does
hereby approve the following job descriptions and pay grades and authorizes the same
to be added to the pay plan for fiscal year 1993/94: Utility Customer Service Supervisor
is a title change only from Supervisor of Meter Reading Services, no grade change;
Chief Operator of Public Water Operation is a title change only from Assistant
Supervisor of Public Water Operations, no grade change; Personnel Analyst, Grade
25., which descriptions are attached hereto as composite Exhibit "A".
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage.

Nature of Work:
This is technical work in the administration of testing and recruiting
activities conducted by the Personnel Department. Work requires a degree
of independent judgment within established guidelines and existing rules
and regulations. General supervision is received from the Personnel
Director or designee who reviews work through conferences, reports, and
results obtained.

Nature of Work:
This is skilled supervisory work in t~? operation of a water
treatment plant. An employee in this class Ks responsible for the
safe, economical operation of the water treatment system. The
employee supervises the work of treatment and plant personnel,
maintains a constant check on the water treatment and pump
processes, and personally performs more difficult operational.
Employees in this class are required to schedule the operational
duties for the water treatment plant. Work is performed under the
general, supervision of a Deputy Utility Director or designee and
reviewed through discussions with the employee and examination of
plant records and reports. However, the employee is required to
exercise independent judgement and initiative in the proper
operation of the plant. Employee in this position must possess a
Class ,A" Water Treatment Plant Operator Certificate.

Nature of Work:
UTILITIES CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPERVISOR
This is highly responsible, administrative and supervisory work
coordinating the operations of the City's meter reading and customer
relations divisions. The employee allocated to this class is responsible
for the administration of all utility customer services to the public.
This includes installation, reading and servicing of water meters, customer
billing and relations and coordination of central cashiering. This
employee makes daily decisions regarding the assignment of employees and
prioritization of tasks and exercises considerable independent judgement
and initiative in performance of the duties. Work is performed under the
general supervision of the Finance Director or designee.
