Thespians Headed for States
Six students from the Theatre Academy at Boynton Beach Community High School
took home top honors at the District X Thespian Competition on December 3".
Seniors Karla Armstrong and Kevin Altenor and Juniors, Jonah Cabada, Brendan
Gardner , Bridgette Karam and Christine Barger all received superior ratings for
their scenes and monologues, taking home a total of eight medals.
The superior ratings qualify the team to compete on the state level in Tampa this
coming March. It's the first time in years that the team has qualified.
Theatre Academy director, Joe Ametrano said , "Transportation, housing and entry
fees total several thousand dollars. Now all we have to do is raise the money."
Donations to help send the young Thespians to the State Competition are now being
accepted. Please send donations to: Boynton Beach Community High School, Pam
