WEDNESDAY, APRIL 11, 2012, AT 7:00 P.M. IN THE COMMISSION CHAMBER,

I. Openings
A. CaII to Order
Chair Waterhouse called the meeting to order at 7 :00 p.m.
B. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag
The members recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
II. Roll Call
The Recording Secretary called the roll and determined a quorum was present.
III. Approval of Minutes — March Meeting
Motion
Mr. Swoope moved to approve the minutes Mr. Zonenstein seconded the motion that
unanimously passed.
IV. Approval of Agenda

Ms. Newton advised under Old Business, C, she mentioned that the area described on
the agenda was not the area she stated. She advised it was a "general" area, but not
the actual area. She stated it was on 6 Avenue, between 4 Street and 2nd Street, and
on 4 Street, between 6 Avenue and 5 Avenue.
b. Adoption
The agenda was adopted.

INDIVIDUAL SPEAKERS WILL BE LIMITED TO THREE - MINUTE PRESENTATIONS
VII. Old Business
A. Advisory Board Elections
Chair Waterhouse announced that she would be resigning her position as Chair as she
was working in Miami and it was difficult for her to ensure she would arrive on time for
the meetings. Although her term would be up in December, 2012, her resignation would
be effective tonight. She asked for nominations for Chair and Vice Chair.
Motion
Chair Waterhouse nominated Mr. Piraino for Chair. The motion was seconded by Ms.
Duplecy and unanimously passed.
Motion
Chair Piraino nominated Mr. Swoope for Vice Chair. The motion was seconded by Ms.
Kelly and unanimously passed.
B. Map: City of Boynton
Ms. Waterhouse advised she had not heard back from Officer Huntington but would
follow up with him. As a reminder, Ms. Newton had requested a map that would
highlight areas of interest. Ms. Waterhouse also advised she would email everyone the
package on the branding.

C. Code Enforcement: Trash Removal: NW 4th Street and NW 6th Avenue
Ms. Waterhouse advised she would also update the memo to Office Huntington about
the Code Enforcement issue so that would stay on the agenda and could be followed up
with next month.
D. CRB Brochure Prototype
Last month the prototype brochure was discussed. Ms. Waterhouse advised she made
some minor modifications to add a section on the back that allowed for someone to
write in preferred contact method. She would forward to Officer Huntington for
approval.
VIII. Old Business
A. April: Financial Literacy Month: Ever -Fi Program for Schools
Ms. Waterhouse commented that April was Financial Literacy Month. She wanted to
point out that a program was introduced to the schools in Palm Beach County called
Ever -Fi. This was a web -based financial literacy education program and Bank of United
was sponsoring five schools in Miami -Dade and five schools in Broward County. She
was checking to see if they would sponsor schools in Palm Beach County, as well. The
purpose of the program was to take high school seniors and educate them in the basic
terminology of financial literacy, such as learning the basics of a mortgage, a loan, the
difference between renting and owning, what are investments and stocks, and checking
and savings accounts among other important things. Ms. Waterhouse would also be
suggesting this be offered in Adult Education classes. For anyone wanting to review the
information, the website was www.ever- Fl.com.
B. Bury the Violence March
Ms. Roundtree requested this item be placed on the agenda in her absence. On April
28 at 9:00 a.m., there would be a march convening at City Hall. The march would
continue to Hester Center down Seacrest Blvd. When arriving at Hester, there would be
a rally and there would be a youth summit following the rally at the Carolyn Sims
Recreational Center. That would begin at noon. There would be ex -gang members and
NFL players on a discussion panel.
IX. Adjournment
Mr. Lowe wanted to thank Ms. Waterhouse for her service and time on the Board.
There was discussion on different and new ways to make the public aware of this Board
and what issues can be brought before it. There were suggestions on possible
speakers, marketing strategies and ways to bring and keep businesses in the City.

Motion
Mr. Zonenstein moved to adjourn. Vice Chair Swoope seconded the motion that
unanimously passed. The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
