My name is Rick Swain, and I am the Athletic Director and Head Football coach at Boynton Beach Community
We are your
High School. The school is located in Boynton Beach off Park Ridge Blvd or Gateway Blvd.
Community High School.
We would like you to become a business partner with our athletic department.
Most people and or companies not directly involved with the Palm Beach County School District funding of
athletics policies do not understand how the funding of athletics work in Palm Beach County. Athletic Directors
and coaches have to generate all revenue to support their programs through community support. There are some
teams that generate a little revenue through gate receipts but it only covers a fraction of the cost to run a safe
sports program. For example the cost of officials for our sports teams to participate was over $11,000 dollars for
the year. Transportation was over $20,000 dollars, not to mention uniforms, equipment, required P.B.C.S.D.
insurance mandatory $75.00 per player (secondary insurance), team meals, and the list goes on and on. This
season our football team is required to order $10,500 dollars in new helmets due to a new F.H.S.A.A. safety
rule that will require all schools to meet higher standards for concussion safety.Without businesses,
community support, and charities we cannot support our programs.
Boynton Beach Community High School is a Title 1 school which in lay terms means low socio-economic student
base. We feel our sports programs assist young aspiring teens with character building, self esteem, and leadership
qualities, to become leaders in the community and or the world. Without sports and after school extracurricular
activities many of our teens will be on the street with no direction and without a purpose or goal.
We have had many success stories at Boynton High our school grade has been a “B” for the past two years just
missing an “A” by a small margin. Boynton High has two nationally recognized Academies, B.A.S.A. (Aero-
space engineering) and our coveted “best in the nation” coral group Dimensional Harmony. Athletically have
produced numerous college bound Student/Athletes, most notable John Harris (Football) to Mississippi State,
st
Jessamen Dunker (Football) “Parade All American”(1 in school history), to the University of Florida, and Taylor
Shade to Florida International University to play women’s basketball. This year eleven student athletes received
academic/athletic scholarships; which is the most in school history.
Our immediate needs are: Football (50 helmets), Soccer (uniforms, goals and nets), Track (discuss cage), Softball
(uniforms and nets for batting cages), Baseball (uniforms and bats), Girls and Boys Basketball (uniforms). Our
list goes on and on. We provide our business/corporate sponsors various levels of commitment:
