Brushed Metal Wind Chimes by Paul "Paulo" Slater
. Project consists of 2 cylindrical wind chimes constructed of 100% recyclable aluminum securely
mounted to existing metal trellis at ofthe Children's Museum
. Each wind chime is securely mounted by 3 anchor points and 7ft off the ground in the archway
of the trellises. The wind chime will be recessed inwards to the second arch from the entrance
as to not block traffic flow. (See rendering below)
. 4 full color brushed metal jellyfish will mount to 2 columns front left/right side to showcase the
wind chime which will be visible as you enter and exit the museum
. The internal chime cylinders, vary in size and harmonic tone from low to high on a melodic scale
. A small diameter opening in the bottom of cylinders will moderate cable swing and therefore
volume on windy days
. The image on the outside of the wind chime will compose of whimsical steely brush strokes that
will capture the light from multiple directions.
. Hardware for the pillars can be designed for security yet interchangeability
. Durabilitv: Aluminum will not rust and remain brilliant in most exterior conditions
The vibrant ink colors are for exterior billboard applications which contain UV protection
Strong cables will ensure security and safety during manual play and very windy days
. The turnaround for the project construction is 2 weeks
With the guidance of the City, installation my require assistance.
As an entryway presentation, the paired harmonically tuned wind chimes will stimulate our auditory and
visual senses. Each Tone bar is designed to bring our 7 major chakras into balance thus, resonating
positive vibrations. Each chime is high enough off the ground to prevent heavy abuse yet invoke user
interaction.
*Expansion wind chimes will further tune our body's secondary and tertiary chakras.
