A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, EXPRESSING
SUPPORT AND/OR OPPOSITION TO SEVERAL PROPOSED
BILLS BEING CONSIDERED FOR ENACTMENT BY THE
FLORIDA LEGISLATURE DURING THE 1994 SESSION;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Florida leqislature is considering numerous
bills for enactment during ~he 1994 Legislative Session; and
WHEREAS, several of these bills presently under
consideration are deemed to be advantageous to the local
governments, while others are deemed to be not advantageous.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Boynton
Beach, Florida does hereby express its support for the
following listed bills since they have been determined to
either (1) provide funding/increase revenues to the Cities;
(2) increase flexibility to the Cities; and/or (3) remove
inconsistencies, clarify language and provide greater
understanding to the public:

Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton
Beach expresses its opposition for the following listed bills
since they have been determined to either (1) decrease local
revenue sources; (2) erode and/or intrude on the City's local
home rule authority; (3) impose mandates on cities without
financing; (4) place unreasonable financial burdens on local
governments; and/or place/impose adverse impacts on local
governments:

Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to
forward a certified copy of this Resolution upon passage to
the Palm Beach County Delegation advising them of Boynton
Beach's support and opposition to these respective proposed
Bills.
