13-036 If I 1 211 ORDINANCE NO. 13 -036 3 4 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF 5 ' BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, REPEALING PART II, CHAPTER 2, 6 ADMINISTRATION, ARTICLE VI, SEC. 2 -101 THROUGH 2 -106 OF THE 7 1 CITY'S CODE OF ORDINANCES (ORDINANCE 90 -79) WHICH 8 CREATED THE BOYNTON BEACH COMMUNITY RELATIONS 9 BOARD; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; SEVERABILITY; AND AN 10 EFFECTIVE DATE. 11 12 WHEREAS, on January 2, 1991, the City Commission adopted Ordinance 90 -79 13 creating the Community Relations Board; and 14 WHEREAS, the 2006 American Assembly: Committing to Our Future recommended 15 to examine current codes of advisory boards and update the boards to better conform to 16 current needs of the City; and 17 WHEREAS, based on a review by staff of surveys and meeting minutes, it is staff's 18 recommendation that the Community Relations Board which is advisory in nature, be sunset 19 by repealing Ordinance No. 90 -79 due to the fact that the current mission is no longer relevant 20 and is redundant to existing functions being performed expeditiously by staff; and 21 WHEREAS, the City Commission finds the repeal of Part II, Chapter 2, Article VI, 22 is in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Boynton Beach. 23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF 24 THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA THAT: 25 11 Section 1. The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed t 26 as being true and correct, and are hereby incorporated herein and made a part hereof. 27 Section 2.
