I. Call to Order
Chair Bobich called the meeting to order at 9:15 a.m.
II. Roll Call
Roll call established a quorum was present.
Ill. Acceptance of Minutes of September 9, 2014, regular meeting
Motion
Ms. Scott moved to approve. Mr. Falstad seconded the motion that unanimously
passed.
IV. Safety Committee Education & Training
Chair Bobich explained there was a situation which involved an employee that came to
work after hours smelling of alcohol. The employee was sent home for his shift, but
should have been drug or alcohol tested. There is a mobile drug and alcohol testing

service the City uses which will arrive within 60 minutes of being called. Tim
McPherson, Human Resource and Risk Administrator, referred to the two reasonable
suspicion drug testing forms and advised Human Resources was soliciting feedback
from supervisors on them. They should be used to document incidents. Chair Bobich
requested the members review the forms and forward them to their supervisors for their
feedback. There is a policy on drug and alcohol use that should be followed.
Chair Bobich also announced Tim McPherson was new to the City. Mr. McPherson
explained he worked in Jupiter and Martin County prior to being employed by the City of
Boynton Beach. He had also previously worked with Chuck Magazine.
V. Old Business
A. Fire Drills
Chair Bobich announced there was a fire alarm on September 23, 2014. He was out
that day, but there was confusion about who to call. Chair Bobich advised individuals
are to call Kevin Ramsey. He provided his Mr. Ramsey's phone number to the
members and announced it was also posted on the fire alarm panel. In this instance,
the alarm sounded in the lobby area due to dust in the alarm sensor.
B. Proud to be a Safe Worker Awards
None.
C. Departmental Inspections & Safety Meetings
Chair Bobich advised Risk Management was available to assist with meetings and
inspections as needed.
D. Incident Review Board Referrals
Chair Bobich explained there were no referrals but there were changes forthcoming. A
meeting would be held at 2:30 p.m. later in the day to review them.
E. Drug Free Program/Policy (HR/RM — Mark Bobich/Pam Webb)
It was announced the City Attorney was still reviewing the Policy. Chair Bobich hoped it
would be completed soon.
F. Safety Manual (Update in Process)
The Manual was still in the process of being updated. When it is completed, it will come
before the Committee.

VII. Announcements
The last day to receive a flu shot was October 15, 2014. The shots were available to
City employees and their families and to City retirees in the City Library Program Room.
The November Safety Committee Meeting was cancelled in observance of Veterans
Day.

Motion
There being no further business to discuss, Mr. Majors moved to adjourn. Ms. Scott
seconded the motion that unanimously passed. The meeting was adjourned at 9:28
a.m.
