Safety Committee Education & Traininm Vt video on holiday safety and drunk driving was viewed. Chair Bobich urged the members to spread the word to drive safely. Meeting Minutes Safety Committee Boynton Beach, Florida December 9, 2014 The following suggestions were received from the members about holiday safety: Do not travel at night if sleepy Make sure you hh°»2 « t« =» air pressure if traveling ?*•i«»« operated candies Be careful with the use #<* <?#« cords and do not string more than three strings of lights together Check and adjust car mirrors ® Take © time to do the work correctly and do not skip steps > Be sure to add water to Christmas trees Us caution when backing vehicles out and make sure vision is not obstructed. > Keep foods at proper temperature. > Use proper ladder safety, even on short ladders > Use bike helmets ® Do not give dogs chocolate. Keep cats from poinsettia leaves. Make sure nibbling pets like rabbits or hamsters do not chew rewire > Watch out for each other. Chair Bobich announced he would put together an annual report regarding fire drills. He noted there were =w« false alarms in City Hall and most recreational facilities have fire drills twice a year. It was important to have at least one fire drill a month. The City Attorney was still reviewing the Drug Free Program/Policy. Tim McPherson, HR/RM Administrator, explained they were working on a condensed version. Once. available, the Ordinance would be changed. 2 Meeting Minutes Safety Committee Boynton Beach, Florida December 9, 2014 F. Safety Manual The update is in progress. Staff was seeking to make the document more user friendly. It was important to have one manual instead of the Administrative Policy Manual, the Personal Policy Manual and the Safety Manual. Chair Bobich noted the current Safety Manual was still in effect. G. Other None. V11. New Business A. Departmental Safety Issues None. B. Other None. VIII. Announcements Chair Bobich commented no space heaters are allowed to be used in City Hall. Ms. Webb commented Risk Management was receiving notifications of situations in the City that could pose a potential risk. She explained receiving the information greatly reduces issues.
