We must never forget the sinking of the S.S. Dorchester in February 1943,
.r in the North Atlantic. There was a storm brewing and the little ship was
y ', ' a ?' "' tossed about and the men were apprehensive as the reports said they
*1$E .L. ,;4-iMa.t, were being trailed by German submarines.
A short time after midnight, they were struck by a torpedo and immediately
began to sink. In total darkness, many could not find a life jacket. On
g deck the Four Chaplains removed theirs and gave them to the soldiers.
This heroic act meant they gave up their lives. We will never forget this
