3.2 Tour Creation and Training
Gathering information about the tour, including audio, location information, and textual content will
be a collaborative effort between Boynton Beach and Otocast, with the expectation that Otocast
personnel may make at least one visit to "kick off' the project, outline the project plan and begin
initial planning and tour creation.
3.2.1 Fee Structure
Fees for Otocast are in two components: an initial setup fee, and a recurring, annual fee for licenses,
support, and maintenance. This annual fee is due on the "anniversary date" of the guide's
availability in the app.
Initial setup /configuration — This includes everything needed to put the guide(s) together — it is
priced per "point of interest" — regardless of how many guides you divide them into for
manageability. We also recommend an "introduction" entry for each guide —this has no additional
fee. Throughout the first year, you can make as many changes and updates as needed, whether it is
updating text, audio, photos, temporarily removing a piece, or adding some new ones.
The initial fee is $125 per point. For implementations with 60 or more locations, the rate is $110 per
location.
Annual Maintenance — This begins one year after the guide is "published" / made available to the
public. As before, you can make as many updates as you need.
The recurring fee is a maximum of $60 per point. See the next section for more details on
the "maximum" nature of the recurring fee.
Sponsorship — If you are able to include sponsors in the guide, they will appear with a different
pushpin color to differentiate them, but they will receive the same set of features (audio, photos,
etc.) as any "themed" point of interest. We recommend maintaining a high ratio of pieces to
sponsors which a) provides some exclusivity to the sponsors and b) doesn't annoy the app users with
lots of entries that are non - themed. 40% of the sponsorship fees will be applied to any recurring
fees associated with your guide.
3.2.2 Specific Implementations for Boynton Beach
3.2.2.1 Avenue of the Arts
Based on the current understanding of the requirements for the forthcoming Avenue of the Arts
exhibition, Otocast offers the following pricing:
Initial setup /configuration — $1,625. This amount is based on 13 sculptures at the rate of $125 per
location.
Although this is not a permanent exhibition, embedded sponsorship may be employed to encourage
local businesses and reduce the initial fee. If two sponsors (local restaurants, for example), were
included in the guide, each paying $50 per month (annual total $1200), then the setup fee would be
reduced by $480, to a total of $1,145. The sponsorship rate varies from city to city, and may be
more or less in your area. Otocast is happy to review specific rates that have been offered in other
areas.
