R15 -158 2 3 4 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, 5 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A 6 ONE YEAR AGREEMENT WITH THE WAG GROUP FOR 7 INTERPRETING SERVICES FOR SPECIAL EVENTS BEGINNING ON 8 JANUARY 1, 2016 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2016; AND 9 ? PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. 10 11 12 WHEREAS, having an interpreter for individuals who are Deaf is one of many ways 13 ' the City is ensuring equal access to programs, services and activities provided by the City; and 14 WHEREAS, the WAG Group will provide interpreting for special events hosted by the 15 City on an "as needed" or "as the city requests" basis; and 16 WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida deems it to be 17 in the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Boynton to approve and 18 authorize the City Manager to sign a one year Agreement with The WAG Group for 19 interpreting services for special events beginning on January 1, 2016 and ending on December 20 31, 2016. 21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF 22 THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: 23 Section 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as 24 being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption 25 hereof. 26 Section 2. The City Commission hereby approves and authorizes the City Manager 27 to sign a one year Agreement with The WAG Group for interpreting services for special events 28 beginning on January 1, 2016 and ending on December 31, 2016, a copy of which is attached S: \CC\WP\Resolutions\2015\R15 -158 - The_WAG_ Group_- _Interpreting_Services. INTERPRETING AGREEMENT This agreement between The City of Boynton Beach and The WAG Group, a Florida Corporation, for professional interpreting services to be provided by The WAG Group. The services hired are for The WAG Group to provide professional interpreting services, as needed by The City of Boynton Beach at the agreed upon rate of $150.00 per hour, per interpreter with a two hour minimum, per event, plus $70.00 per hour thereafter* plus expenses (to include mileage outside Palm Beach County, parking costs, and any costs for admissions to contracted events). The WAG Group will contract each individual event as requested and invoice on a per event basis, as hours and expenses are incurred. Cancellation of an assigned event less than two (2) business days will be billed out at 50% of the 2 hour minimum for as many interpreters as contracted. Cancellations in less than 24 hours will be billed at the full contracted price for the amount of interpreters contracted. This agreement is in effect for a period from January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016. This agreement may be terminated at any time by either party with no prior notice. Any monies due to The WAG Group at that time will be due in full within 30 days of termination. The WAG Group will not be held responsible for the content of any and all presentations /conversations that our interpreters may hire to interpret for The City of Boynton Beach.
