A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF BOYNTON BEACHf FLOR~DAf APPROVING AN
AMENDMENT TO THE GUIDELINES F,O.R DISTRIB~JI-iON
OF COMMUNITY INVESTMENT FUNDS, AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECllVE DATE.
WHEREAS, there was included in the City of Boynton Beach Budget for
:iscal Year 2000-01 the sum of $125,000 in Community Investments Funds, for
~istribution by the City Commission in support of community projects and activities;
~nd
WHEREAS, the City Commission approved and adopted Guidelines for
~istribution of these Community Investment Funds; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach now desires to
~mend the Guidelines for Distribution of Community Investments Funds to include
.ontributions to City administered and operated Scholarship Prc~grams as an eligible
~roject; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
I'HE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are true and correct and
hereby ratified and confirmed by the City Commission
Section 2. That the City commission of the City of Boynton Beach does
hereby approve the Amended Guidelines for Distribution of Community Investment
Funds, to include contributions to scholarship programs as an eligible project, said
tmended Guidelines being attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
Section 3. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
)assage.

Amended Guidelines for Distribution of Community Investment Funds
Introduction: Included in the City of Boynton Beach Budget for Fiscal
2000-01 program year is $125,000 in Community Investmen~t Funds. The
funds are available to each of the five members of the City Commission in
the mount of $25,000 to support community projects and activities. This
report will suggest basic guidelines for the distribution and use of these
public funds for community projects or activities.
Program Eligibility Period: October 1, 2000 to September 3(
Amount available to each member of the City Commissi
broken into two eligibility periods:

October 1, 2000 to February 28, 2001 maximum of $12,500
March 1, 2000 to September 30, 2001 - maximum of $12,500
plus any carry-over from prior six month period.
The purpose of the two eligibility periods is to assure fimding
opportunities to outgoing and incoming members of the City
Commission based on the March 2001 election.
Eligible projects may consist of assistance to local community
organizations for physical improvements to public propel ty or public
rights of way such as parks, medians or other City-owned p :operty. The
assistance may be in outright grants to support improvements to public
property or on a cost-sharing basis with local organizalions. Before
funding, the proposed ~mprovements must receive neces~ ary permits,
staff rewew for compatibility with design plans or capital construction
plans and must be approved by the City Commission by n ~otion on the
Consent Agenda. Ehgible proiects shall also include cor tributions to
scholarship programs which are City administered and operated, and
open only to students who reside w/thin the CiW limits oIthe CiW of
Boynton Beach.
Ineligible projects include direct financial support or gifts to individuals,
businesses, or associations including funding of any operational
activities, with the exception of contributions to scholarshipprograms as
outlined above. Funds may not be used to support
subsidize the operational expenses of City Departments.
