Mayor Michael expressed the need for the City Council to interrup the
Workshop Meeting to go into special session~
M~. Summers moved that we go into Special Session; Seconded by
Mr. WOrretl, and unanimously carried.
Mayor Michael called the meeting to order at 8:20 P.M.~ as a~Specfal
Session this 30th day Df October, 1967, to discuss two items:
Item - (1) Briny Breezes Fire Contract renewal for 1967-68.
Mayor Michael read the. Briny Breezes contract and stated that if the
contract meets with the approval of the council that a motion he
entertained to enter into a contract with Briny Breeds.
i~i~. Summers moved that we enter into the agreement with Briny Breezes
for fire contract and it 'become effective immediately so that con-
tinuous protection is made until both Mayors sign the eontrac~c.
Mr. Michael stated that the present contrac~ does not expire until
November 1st.
Motion seconded by Mr. Collins, and unanimously carried.
Item - (2) To consider an offer to De made to Palm Beach
county offering a site for a Courthouse Annex.
Dis.cussio. n .was hel~d regardin~ the property, location, ~gress and ingress
roaas and right-or-ways, utilities, etc. This property contains 20
acres, and is located in Government Lot 3, West of S.W. 28th Avenue and
SAL Ry and East of Congress Avenue.
Mr. Worrell moved that we offer this 20 acre parcel as discussed to the
County for Courthouse Annex, with the City furnish, inq ~utilities service
to the property~ and we will cooperate with them in providing fish, of-
way to the property.
Discussion was held re~arding the right-of-way to mean access road to
the propertp.
Motion seconded ~y Mr. Nylund and unanimously carried.
discussion was held regarding the availability of fumds and the cost
in.vo.l_ved for continuing ~he water and sewer lines and the necessity of
£1~t station tO service the area of the property, which would involve

a cash outlay of $36~000. After further discussion it was unanimously
agreed that this sum could be made available by curtailing the budget.
Motion had been previously seconded and passed and M~. Courtney ~s
requested to d~aft a letter outlining our proposal and make our pre-
sentation at tile meeti~ with the County Commissioners on Tuesday~
October 31st~ 1967 at 9:30 A.M.
Theme being no further business the Special Session ~.;as adjourned at
8:55 P.M., and the council resumed the workshop meeting.
At 9:25 P.M. a special session was again called to order to discuss
the Golden Palm Lakes Trailer Park.
Mayor ~iichael stated that we had received a notice of hearing from
Palm Beach County Zoning Commission regarding the hearing and the
council could send a letter '~for~ or ??against'~ said proposed pa. rk.
A discussion was held regarding the feasibility and/or desirability
of this trailer park in close proximity to the city limits.
The property on which the proposed rental park is located is on the
West side of Congress Avenue~ ~ounded on the South by the Boynton
Canal.
Vice Mayor Summers moved that the Mayor send a letter to the Palm
Beach County Zoning Commission that this Council has ~o objection to
this trailer parks seconded by ~. Collins, and carried.
Mayor }iichael requested that the record show that he is 100°% "against'~
this request~ but that he will sign the letter. Vote 4 ~for~ and
1 "against~.
Special meeting adjourned and workshop session continued.
