RESOLUTION NO. R17 -034
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN
ALL DOCUMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE FLORIDA BOATING
IMPROVEMENT (FBIP) GRANT, ACCEPT AND ADMINISTER THE
GRANT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY AND SIGN THE GRANT
AGREEMENT SUBJECT TO APPROVAL BY THE CITY ATTORNEY;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Florida Boating Improvement Program provides funding through
competitive grants for boating access projects and other boating- related activities on coastal
and /or inland waters of Florida; and
WHEREAS, the FBIP grant will help the City improve boater safety by paying for
hail of the cost of removing inefiective buoy channel markers and replacing them with
permanent channel markers; and
WHEREAS, by switching from buoy channel markers to permanent channel
markers, boaters will gain a reliable navigational aid to assist them in finding a deep water
channel to protect their boat and their safety.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption
hereof.
Section 2. The City Commission approves and authorizes the City Manager to
sign all documents associated with the Florida Boating Improvement (FBIP) grant, accept
and administer the grant on behalf of the City and execute the Grant Agreement subject to
approval by the City Attorney.

Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage.
