Mayor Mahoney called the meeting to order at 11:05 A.M.

Mayor Mahoney reported to the Council that Mr. Piszczek, 706
Shore Drivehad Contacted him in regard to protection along the
Boynton Canal east of U. S. #l.
The City Attorney read Ordinance No. 6~-4t which prohibited
fishing, swimming, diving or loitering in the vicinity of the
Boynton Canallocks. Mr. Boos moved that Ordinance No. 6~-~1
be adopted on first reading as an emergency measure to become
effective immedimtelY. Motion seconde~ by Mr. Madsen end
carried ~-0. Mr. Madsen requested the City Manager to obtain
written approval from the Flood Control District to permit the
police department of the City to enforce this ordinance on their
property.
The Mayor requested that a copy of subject ordinance be sent to
Mr. Don McKone, ~ ·
~oqu~na Cove and Mr. Alvin Shepack, Harbor
Estates.
Chan~e Order for Sanitary Sewer Project
Mr. Kain advised the Coumcil that the City had been unable to
obtain an easement from Mr. Field in order to proceed with the
installation of a force main in the Gordon Park-Venetian Isle

area. He recommended a change in route and estimated the addi-
tional cost at $3,500.
Mr. Archie moved that the necessary chanfe order be authorized.
Motion seconded by Mr. Boos and carried 4-0.
Proposed Resolution No. 65-LL
The Village of Royal Palm Beach requested cooperation from the
City in adopting a resolution urging the State agencies to ex-
tend State Road #? northward from 0keechobee Road to connect
with the BeeLine Highway. After considerable discussion, Mr.
Boos moved that the City take no part in subject request. Motif_
seconded by Mr. Archie and carried ~-l. ¥~. Madsen voting No.
Mr. Kain read a proposal from F. S. Smithers & Co. and Potts &
Shepard to act as financial adviser for the capital improvement
program° Mr. Archie moved that the Mayor and City Clerk be
authorized to sign the contract as amended. Motion seconded by
Mr. Boos and carried ~-0o Mayor Mahoney stated that Mr. Banks
had concurred in this subject by telephone to Mr. Kain.
In regard to application for Federal Grant on the Street Improve-
ment and storm drainage program, Mr. Archie moved that the Mayor
and City Attorney be authorized to go to Atlanta and '~alk
through" ~he plans and applications. Motion seconded by Mr.
Madsen and carried ~-0.
Discussion followed re zoning of the proposed beach properties
being considered in the Capital Improvement Program. The City
Manager was asked to endeavor to obtain a copy of the Ordinance
of the Town of Ocean Ridge zoning subject parcels.
The next CoI.P. meeting was announced for October 6, 196~.
