Henry Jarvis of the Southside Baptist Church gave the invo- cation. Eagle Scout Fred ~llls of Troop 595 led the Salute to the Flag. MINUTES Mr. M~honeymade the following corrections and additions to the minutes of regular meeting of July 20, 1964: On page 2, paragraph l, the portion indicating where the two spoil areas are to ~be located, one at the sewage t~eatment plant and the othe~on the 28 foot easement on 12th Avenue_, should read ~~ Also on Page 2, paragraph 4, re~arding Resolution 64-EE for clarification only, "...the relocatmon of utilities in the vicinity of S. E. lSth Avenue;" add in the right of way ~ the proposed 18th Avenue brid~e. ~ir. ~adsen moved that the minutes of July 20th be approved with the corrections and additions. Nr. Snm~ers seconded. Notion carried §-0. Nr. Stummers moved the minutes of Special meeting of July 30th, 1964, be approved as written. Mr. l~honey seconded. No- tion carried 5-0. PUBLIC,, HALP-HOU2 Er. Summers said that he had had complaints rega~ding hya- cinths and other growth blocking canals and wondered if writing to the drainage districts and bringing pressure could bring about improvements. Nr. Archie stated that last year the City had eEpended $3,19o for acroleln which was applied by the County. The budget allocated $4,000 for clearing canals. It was brought out that the City bought the acrolein to spray the canals, the -1- Boynton Beach, Fla. August 3, 1954 County did the spraying, using boats furnished by the Drainage District. Mr. Banks stated that he understood that there was some material or money left to purchase more acrolein for clean- up. He made the statement at the time that there wasntt shy need for the City to go into the project in the first place if they did not follow up on it. After further discussion, the Council instructed the City Nanager to get in touch with the various agencies and coordinate their efforts in clearing the canals within the City, Mrs. David Stanley of S. N. 6th Avenue thanked the Council for attending to the spraying and trimming of trees on S. ~. 6th Avenue. BIDS., .. - OPENING Bids for the installation of a portion of System IOA, Sani- tary Sewage Project were called for at 7:48 p.m. Five bids were received. Nr. Construction Co. of ~Vest Palm Beach, Florida, in the amount of $80,817,20 and that th~ Mayor end City Clerk be authorized to sign the contract, contingent upon receipting a letter of recommendation from the consulting engineers, Russell & Axon. Nr. Supers seconded. Notion carried 8-0. -2- MINUTES Bo~ntcn Beach, Fla. August 3, 1964 OLD BUSINESS Mrs. Padgett informed the Council that Nfs. Alta Wa~er, 205 South Federal Highway, had requested that her beer license to serve on premises only be extended to include take-out. Nfs. Warner had said that the fact that this was not included in the license in the first place was an oversight in making out ~he application. Mr. MahOne~ moved that the Council grant approval ~o the request of Alta ~a~ner a~ 20§ South Federal Highway for a license to serve beer on p~emisesand take oub, Mr. Summers seconded. Motion carried 5-0. ADMINISTRATIVE Mr. Archie moved that the following payments made in J~ne 1964, by Funds be made a part of the minutes. Mr. Mahoney se- conded. Motion carried 5-0.
