The meetLng was called to order by the Mayor. The Rev. Henry
~arvis of Southside Baptist Church gave the ~vocation. Scouts
Bill ~nd Tom Narnke, President and Secretary of Post 222, led the
Salute to the Flag.
TD~ presentation of School Patrol Certificates was made by
the ~ayo~ assisted by Safety Director Dick JO~son. The awards
~ere presented to more than Fifty Patrol students from area schools
Dar~icipating in the Safety Program.
The ~inth grade students who particioated in "Youth in Govern-
merit Day" on May ~th were pre~ented awards by the Mayor. "Mayor
Randy Tribble" in turn presented the ~ayor end City Co~ucil wi~h
a bound book of reports on the students day in government. The
Mayor thanked the students and said ~t the hook would be placed
in City archives, Re, ice Lauaing, Principal, expressed his appre-
ciation to the Council.

Mrs. Emily ~ackson asked the Council about certain rumors
~hat were circulating in the City with regard to the sewer and
water rates going up. ~ayor Banks told her that the Council was
working diligently on a proguam to do away with the front foot
assessment.
