APPRGVAL OF ~NUTES Mr. ~dsen moved that the minutes of regular meeting of April 8, 1~8~, be approved. Mr. Archie seconded. All Council- men voted AYE. Regarding the special meeting of April ~, 1954, Mr. Summers pointed out that on Page E, Paragraph 8, the word "feet" should be inse~ted after "cne-h~dred" and requested that the we~ds "also known as Lake Drive," be inserted to further identify it. Mr. Nadsen moved tha~ the minutes be approved with the correc- tion of Mr. Summers. ~. Arohie seconded. All Councilmen Voted AYE, Ordinance 8.~'7 r. Charitable Soli~cStsti0n~s. r First Reading ~r. ~oore read Ordinance 8~-7 in its entirety. The Ordi- nance defined charitable solicitations and set Fort~ certain requirements to be fulfilled by parties or groups seeking ~o solicit within the City. The Ordinance requires ~ form be sub- mitted for a permit and also the filing of results of the solici- tations within thirty days after the program has been conducted. The permit issued under this ordinance wo~ld be valid for a ~O-day period. ~. Nahoney asked if local organizations, such as the Lions Club and Kiwanis Club, who sell.Christmas trees and fruit cakes, etc., would come ~nder the jurisdiction of this ordinance~ Mr. Moore said that they would~ It was pointed out that this type of legislation had the backing of the United F~ad. ~.
