The meeting was opened by au invocation given by Mayor Banks,
followed by the Salute to the Flag led by Benny Gundlach, Life
Sco~t, Troop
Nr. Clinton Taylor gave a short talk on the recently orgauized
Palm Be~ch Co~t~ Citizen's Saffety Council of ~hioh he is President.
~. Taylor stated that the Council was formed to serve as a voice
for the silent masses and its prime interest was to stimulate safety.
He requested that the Council appoint one or two local citizens as
representatives to serve on the Council for the community.

At the request of the City Clerk, ~. 2~honey moved that
the ~osentee registration of John. H. Cook, Jr, be approved.

Mr. Kain read the list of bills presented for approval which
are attached hereto m~d m~de a part hereof. Mr. ~ahoney moved
that items ~, 5, mud 8 in the amoant of $62.78, afffecting item 8,
be approved and paid from the contingency fund and that all other
bills be approved for payment from their respective acoountSo

~r. ~ain brought to the Council~s attention a~ req~st by the
Police Department for the transfer of sick leave e~dits to
Harve~ Paige~ who h~ a recent heart attack ~d would require
~ days in which to recover, but had only acc~utated 9 days
sick leave. }~ ~ said that in hi~ option sick leave was
not t~sfemable, ~d he would lik~~ to r~eco~mend t~t no further
attempls be made to tr~sfsr sick leave. Howev~r~ he would ~ecom-
mend that a period of ti~ equalli~ B1 days be ~de available
to Harvey Paige to afford him opportunity ~o recover, l~r. l~dsen
mo~d ~at the reoo~endation of the City Ranger be accep~d.
