1 RESOLUTION NO. RI7 - 093 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, 4 FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY ROAD 5 CLOSING OF SEACREST BOULEVARD, THE 6 INTERSECTION OF WEST BOYNTON BEACH 7 BOULEVARD AND NORTH SEACREST BOULEVARD, 8 EAST OCEAN AVENUE AND FEDERAL HIGHWAY IN 9 BETWEEN EAST OCEAN AVENUE AND BOYNTON 10 BEACH BOULEVARD ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 11 2017 FOR THE 5K RACE FOR POVERTY AND 12 AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE 13 TO APPLY FOR STATE PERMITS FOR THE 14 TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSING; PROVIDING FOR 15 EFFECTIVE DATE. 16 17 WHEREAS, the 5k Race for Poverty is an event in the City put on by Pathways to 18 Prosperity, Inc.; and 19 WHEREAS, in order to provide for the safety of the participants and citizens 20 attending the 5k race, the intersection of West Boynton Beach Boulevard and North Seacrest 21 Boulevard, East Ocean Avenue and Federal Highway between East Ocean Avenue and 22 Boynton Beach Boulevard will be required to be closed beginning at 7:00 a.m.; and 23 WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation requires the local government 24 to authorize all temporary road closures on state roadways; and 25 WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach desires to authorize 26 the temporary closing of the intersection of West Boynton Beach Boulevard and North 27 Seacrest Boulevard, East Ocean Avenue and Federal Highway between East Ocean Avenue 28 and Boynton Beach Boulevard on November 4, 2017, to provide for the safety of the 29 participants and citizens attending the 5K Race for Poverty; and 30 WHEREAS, the City Manager (or her designee) is authorized to apply for the permit 31 for temporary closing of state roads for special events, pursuant to Chapter 14-65, Florida 32 Administrative Code, for said temporary closings; 33 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF 34 THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH,FLORIDA,THAT: 35 Section 1.
