TP~ meetir~ was called to order at 7:30 P.M., noting the
~osenee of Mr. Du~kin, who had telegraphed his appli~_es for
being unable to attend.
The Rev. George Apel, of the Southside Baptist Chumch, Boynton
Beach, gave the invocation.
Minutes of the rego. lar meeting held July 20th were read.
Mr. 0ye~ requested ~hat in his motion to amend tb~ acceptance
the a~dit the f~uds he referred to should read "trust funds".
Mr. BaugP~sn moved that the minutes be approved as corrected.
Mr. 0yet seconded the motion which passed unanimously.

snake bite~ trailers located at the Boynton Trailer Park in viola-
tion o£ zoning, installation of street ligh~in Royal Palm Village
~ud action taken on stray dogs.
~. H. H. Kerr publicly refuted a statement printed in the
Boynton Press which had stated that the Council had given hLm the
run-a~ouud two weeks ago when b~ appeared before the Council.
Three bids were opened at 8:00 P.M. for al~in~~m storm shutters
for the City Hall. The companies bidding were T~cpic View Awning
Coo, Inc., Broward Hurricane Panels, amd C~lyde Wet,ell. Mr. Madsen
moved that t2ue bids be tumned ~¢e~ to the Supt. of ?ablic
to ckeck the specifications and that the low bid be awarded on the
1st and 2nd floor individually~ specifying that the Z bars be
installed. Mr~ Baugb~an seconded the motion which passed u~uanir~ously.
Mrs. Bertha Hartlsy inquired into the location of a lot on
which a frame house was to be moved in Lake Boynton Estates.

A letter was road from Florida State Board of Health regard-
ing approval of water layout for Sky Ranch Estates. A copy of a
letter from _~W~orida State Board of Health to Waldsmith and Flanders,
Engineers, in which approval was given for tB-:s project was read.
A letter from Tri-County Governmental League, tabled at the
last r~eting, wasromoved from the table by a Unanimous veto of
the Council. Mr. Madson moved that the City of Boynton Beach Join
the Tri-County Goverr~ental League, du~s for m~mborship being

A letter was read from Mrs. M¢ldred Hall_er askzng compensa~
tion in tho amount of ~0 for property~ measuring 2~ xT~ taken
fop an easement for widening N. E. 1st St. After dis ~s si on,
Mr~ 0yet moved that tho property alomg No E. 1st St. be chocked
t? ascertain what right of way tb~ City has on the east andwest
szde of th~ street between 2nd and 6th avenues. Mr. Mads~a seconded
the motion which passed unanimously.
A letter was read from the Chur~c of Jesus Christ of_. Latter
Day Saints requesting permission for door to door canvassing and
permission to sell the ~Book of Mormon" for ~0~ a copy. Permis-
sion was granted upon a motion by Mr. Oyer, Seconded by Mr. Mads~u
and un~=m~imously passed.
A letter was read from Sal DeCanio, Chairman of tho Library
for Bo~nton Committee, in which t/me Cotuucil was informed of a
meeting held by representatives of various clubs, which forms this
co~.~mittee, and meco~aended that a referendum be called on the
ballot for tb~ next general election. Mr. 0yet moved that the
Library Cor~ittoe be th~o_ukod for it's efforts in behalf of a
library and be requested to supply the Co-~ucil with such additional
information as they can obtain as to proposed size c~ the library,
cost of cons t~ucti on and cost of operation° Mr. Baughuan seconded
the motion which passed u_~animouslyo
A progress report from Russell ~.d ~_xon, Engineers, was road.
A letter from Russell and Axon was read relative to the in~
stallation of a control system on the booster pump located at
S~ E. 15th Ave.
A letter was read from Mr. and -Mrs. Harvey H. YYeber, 1930
N. W. 1st Streot~ in which the writers gave notice for request
for damage ensuing from the construction of lift station No. I on
Lot 19, Block 27, Rolling Green Ridge, First Addition and sewer
installation leading to this lift station which a~tts their pro~
porty~
A letter from Russell and Axon relative to the Weber claim was
read in which they reported that the insurance agencies of the
cone tructi on companies involved had been notified. Two telegrams
were road from the respective insurance companies stating that
investigatlone would bo made. The two const~action companies
involved in the possible claim were Moye Const~ction Co. and
Inter-County Constraetion Co.
Ordinance 59mi0 was read for first reading. Mr. FE~da pointed
out that thee ordinance read ~to be re-zoned Kindergarten and
Nursery" and that the City had no such zonir~. After discussion,
Mr. 0yet moved that the ordinance be amended to a G type zoning
to include KindergarSen and Nursery~ M~. Madsen seconded the
motion which passed unanimously. M~. 0yet £~rther moved that the
ordinance be passed to the second reading~ Mr. Bau~b~man seconded
the mot!on ~hich'~ pass ed ~uanimously.
Three appiioations for licenses were unanimously approved~

Th~ Building Inspector gave a report on the progress of
fencing s~mmir~ pools, stating that on!y five ~ners had not com~
plied~ These five names were to~r~d over to the City Attorney,
who was instructed to write the violators and follow up ~th
procedure necessary to enforce the ordinance.
Recommendations from a joint meeting of the Zoning ~ud Planning
Boards were read° They recommended~approval of zonlr~ applications

the motion which passed ~aLmously. A meeting for this purpose
was set for Wednesday, A~ust ~th at 1:30 P.M.
The Building Report for the month of July showed a total

An advance copy from the Cemetery Board of the layout of the
south section of the Bo~-aatonBeach Memorial Park shying tlme
relocation of the entrance road si~d the infant plots was approved
upon a motion by Mr. 0yer~ seconded by Mr. l~adsen~ ~ud unanimously
passed.
Ti~ Chief of Police was inst_~icted t~ notify the Florida
P~wer and Light Co. of the signs pos$~do&n their poles at the
intersection of L~me Avenue and mthe Federal Highway and ask that
they be removed~
A letter was read from John Mo Tuite, Fire Chief regarding
the appointment of Allen Nyquist as their representative to serve
on ~ Pension. Boa~, ~o_ a period of two year~, After discussion
as to the authorization of the appointment, Mr. 0y~r moved that the
matter be referred to the City Attorney to consult with the Fire
~mief for a clarification. Mr. Baugh~an seconded the motion which

The Supt~ of i~Solic Works read a report of the work pending
in his department ~nd requested permission to employ five additional
men on a tempo?ar~y oas_.s ~n~l such time as t~ work l~d listened,
Mr. 0yet ~ov~d that permission to employ the five ~en on a t~porary
basis be ~anted. Mr. Madsen seconded t~ motion which ~ss~d
