City Attorney Robert Gr_z~mtn~ Jr. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7.~0 n.M. The minutes of the previous regular meeting of J~_ue 2 ~@~e~ ~-$~ it wss pointed out that Mr. McKechnie is from West Palm Beach. M~. Mahoney moved the minutes be accepted. seconded. Motion carried. M~. Durkin A letter wes read from the Recreation Boerd asking that any money earmarked for them Lu the budget be transferred to their accost in the Boynton Beech Bank: and suggesting their new center be called 'The Mettle argo Recreation Center'. It was agreed the Recreation Board should be asked to submit a statement of account before steps are taken about transferring any xunms~ and ~s. ~mllz~ms was requested to write them asking for such acco~atin~. The Building Report for the month of May was reed smo~ting to A letter was read from the Miami Water'C!inic. A letter was reed from the BOynton Beach Boat Club requesting the ooe~ation end maintenance of ~ne ramo be taken over by the City. ~. Durkin moved the City aece~t the ramo as constructed thank the Boa~ Club for consv~uc~mng it st their o~m expense. M~. Mahoney seconded. Motzon carried. and A letter was read from Sergeant Kling!er withdrawing from the Police Pension Fund end resigni~ug from the Board of Trustees~ and requesting refund of the money paid into the fund by him. -2- Mr. Mahoney moved Klingler be allowed so to do. seconded. Motion carried. M~. Durkin A second letter was read from Sergeant Kling!er requesting a street light at the end of S,E.11th Avenue and S,E. 1st Street. A letter was read froE Elder Davis requesting a permit to hold tent services for ten weeks on the E,W. corner of Seacrest and N,E. 10th Avenue. M~. Mahoney moved the matter be tabled for fur~he_ investiga- tion.~.M Durk~u seconded. Motion esrried. }~. Weaver reoorted on the Master Plan Commission's recommended ordinance coverin~ swimming pools. ~.~. D~kin moved the Bui!dLug Inspector b~ authorised to require all future applications for the construction of swimming ~oole to include provision for~ the erection of s fence thereon. Mr. Mahbney seconded. Motion carried. Mr. Mahoney moved~ if the City Co~uucil accepts the reco~mmenda- tion of the ¥~ster Plan Commission, Mr. Griffith be euthorised to oreoare ~u ordinance on swimming pools based on the model presented. Mr. Durkin seconded. Motion carried. Mr. Mahoney moved the combination of the Planning ~ud Zoning Boards be postponed until further information has been obtsined by }~. Grlffith regarding procedure in surrounding Cities. Mr. Durkin seconded. Motion carried. M~. Weaver suggested the Master Plan Co~mission's recom~menda- tion for road specifications be scceoted by Resolution. M~. Durkin moved the Council accept the recommendations of the Master Plan Commission~ and the recommendation of the City Stree~ Supervisor~ by Resolution. ~. Mahoney seconded, Motion car~led. I~. Griffith reported thet he had received no concrete or written instruction~ as promised by Attorney Herring~ relative to the $1~00.00 check.Ocean Ridge sent Boynton Beach marked Police Protection (five months)~ Fire Protection Standby ($1~000.00). Mr. Griffith will ~g&'~ contact Attorney Herring before the is cashed. check M~. Weaver referred to the Pension Committee of the fire Department and suggested $10.00 a month fromthe Fire Department PensiOn F~nd to ~. Law~ and that the City might mstch the amount.
