The Mayor ~alled the meeting to order
~.45 P.M.
The minutes of the previous re ~lar meeting ~f September
16 were read.
Mr. Oyer said the motion regarding Venetian Pa~E should
include the condition that the property owner bear pa~t of
the expense of the w~ er main.
~iththe ~ ove addition, Mr. Rehburg moved that the
minutes be accepted. Mr. Chadwell seconded. Notion passed.
Mr. V~eaver moved the request from George Mozak for a
transfer of a City beer and wine license to the Yacht Basin
restaurant be granted. Mr. Rehburg seconded° Notion passed.
The building report for the month of September was read,
amounting to $1,2~,075.00.
A letter was read from St. Nark,s Catholic ch-~ch,
signed by the Rec$or, Rev. Gerald Manning, requesting paving
of the road in front of the church.
It was agreed the Council would look into the matter
tomorrow at 4 P.M. on the spot, after Mr. Taylor has
inspected it at 9
A letter was read from Hows~d J~ Riley Jr. re~esting
re-zoning of certain lots in Rolling Green Ridge First
Addition.
Mr. Weaver moved the letter be turned over to the
Planning and Zoning Boards. Mr. Chadwell seconded. Notion
passed.
It was pointed out that Forest Pack'Heights needed to be
zoned also.
A letter was re~d from Field and Riley regarding water
lines in Rolling Green, Block 10.
Mr. 0yet moved the City go ahead and install water lines
at City cost. Mr~ Rehburg seconded° Motion carried,
Mr. Brockway presented a plat for Mr. Henry Thompson
of a proposed subdivision.
Mr. Durkin, Chairman of the Planning Board, said he
had been asked by that Board to recommend to the Council that
a zoning and planning expert be employed by the City, saying
there is a definite urgency for such a service. He referred
to the proposed contract drawn up by Mr~ Pimental.
Mro Lavin~ Chairman of the Industrial Board, also spoke
strongly in favor of such a project and, on behalf of his
Board, endorsed everything Mr, Dnrkin had said regarding it~
Mr~ Weaver moved Mrs. Williams be authorised to contact
the other two planning experts who advertise in the Florida
League of Municipalities magazine and make an appointment
with their represemtatives to come to discuss with Council
some of the City's problems, so that a decision can be arrived
at~ Members of the Zoning, Pl~aning and Industrial Boards
to be invitedto attend such meeting. ~. Rehburg seconded.
Motion carried.
~ Lavin, on behalf of the Industrial Board, presented
plat showing the intended road going into Shepherd Plat
acreage, Sec. 20-29.
Mr. 0yet moved acceptance of the location of the road
as designated. Mr. Chadwell seconded. Motion carried.
Mr. Henry Merkel introduced Mr~ Peter C~owe, a boat
builder~ who was making application for a permit to use Pipe's
warehouse for boat building.
Mr. Chadwell moved, Mr~ Rehburg seconded, that this
application be approved, Motion carried.
Mr, Weaver moved as an amendment to the foregoing that
~l boats const~cted unde~ this license be constructed
within the present building. Mr. Rehburg seconded. Motion
carrie d
An applicatiom f~ a permit ~o make bread and sausage in a
residential area was denied, Mr. ~yer moving it be turned down,
Mr~ Weaver seconded, Motion ca~ried~
Mr~ Rehburg moved an application for the making and
re=sale of chenille rugs at ~10 N.E, 3rd Street be approved~
M~ 0yes_seconded. Motion carried.
Mr, Rehburg moved that William Turk's ~equest for a
ret~n of his unused building license fee of $8.00 be
granted~ Mr. Oyer seconded. Motion carried.
Mr~ Rehbu~g moved the recommendation of the Electrical
Board requiring more complete plans from builders be accepted~
Mr. Weaver seconded. Motion carried.
Ordinmnce No.300 covering the budget for the yea_~ October 31,
1987, to November l, 1958~ was read.
Mr. Oyer moved Ordin~uce No.300 be adopted. Mr~ Rehburg
seconded~ Motion carriede
Mr. Rehbu~g referred to the possibility of the County
operating in the Sou~ end of Cotuuty a dump which Boynton
Beach might use.
The City Clerk reported the Lifegusrd had given two weeks'
notice.
It was agreed the matter of a new Lifeguard be turned
over to the Recreation Board°
Mr. Ogden suggested advertising for bids for-construction
of the new City Hall building~
Mro Griffith was asked to insert an advertisement in
the Boynton News and Palm Beach Post, the b~ds to be received
by Novembe~
It was agreed to have a special Council meeting at
l0 A.M. November 12, to open znd discuss the bids.
There being no further business~ the Mayor adjourned
the meeting at llelO P.M,
