Zell Taylor Carl Stone The meeting was called to order by the ~ayor at The City Clerk rea8 the minutes of the last reg~iar~eeting of August I~. ~r~ Rehb~g moved the minutes be accepted as read~ Mr~ Oyer seconded~ ~otion passed~ A letter was read £rom Harold Sts~mbolisn, requesting a beer and wine license for a restaurant at ~0~ S.E, ~nd Street~ I~ Weaver moved that the request be the zoning ordinance being checked. ~r. ~otion carried~ granted ~ubject to Rehburg seconded. A letter was read from J,B. Mitler~ Health Department, approving the water ~-stem !ay0u$ f~r Forest Hilis~ A letter was read from-the Palm Beach County Research Development Board requesting descriptive booklets be ordered as soon as possible as printing of th~m began on September lat~ It was agreed to table the m'avter until it could be taken up with the Chamber of Co~merce~ A second letter was read from the PaLm Beach County Research Development Board regarding the'appointment or re-appointment of t?~ee Boynton B~ach members of the Board, and was tabled for f~ther discussion smd action at next meeting~ The report of the Building Inspector for the month of August was read ~mo~uting to ~256,422.00. A petition was read~ signed by 87 residents of the North end of Boynton requesting a patrolman for certain ho~s during the day at Poincim~_a school. _~?~r~ Oyer moved the Chief of Police be authordsed to engage temporary help to act on Seacrest Boulevard near the school as requested~ ~ro Rehburg seconded. Notion carried~ Mr. Taylor reported the traffic light on Seacrest at 10th Avenue North will be ready shortly~ A plat was presented by Sara Simms ~ Eemorial cemetery for colored pecp!e. Mr. Rehb~g moved that the plat be accepted~ Mr. Weaver seconded~ Motion carried. A representative of the Flow Gas Corporation said they were no longer planning to use public easements for their apparatus~ They requested to be allowed to leave their facilities for the t~e being until they know definitely where they can be located~ ~r~ Oyer moved the Corporation be given a permit to do this~ the City Attorney to draw up a permit by v?r~ich we can have the~ move on being given notice, and they keep onufile ~ City Hall a plat of their insta!lations, be subject to personal property vax~ s~d also relieve Boynton Beach of any City liability. Mr~ ~eaver ssconded~ Motion carried~ Each Councilman was given a c.cpy of the Auditor's repor~ to read before the next regular Council ~eeting~ Mrs~ ~i!iiam Hanschumaksr spoke on behalf of th~ Girl Scouts~ saying they had no placs to meet in the afternoons with the sxception of Yonday and Friday at the Boy Scouts hut~ which only t~mes care of two troops of approxLmateiy ZO each~ out of the total approximate n~o~._.ber cf 200 to 2~0 girls. ~r~ Oyer moved that the front part of the Shuffiebo~d Court be reserved for the Girl Scouts fop their meetings on T~esday afternoons from 2~$0 to 4~00 Mr~ Chadwel! seconded~ Motion carried~ It was agreed th~ Pipes be asxed to attend the ~o--, ~ meeting at I P.~ September 9th, but if he cannot make th~ date then Friday~ September 23rd~ at 7.30 P.~ Er~ Griffith read Zoning Ordinance 298 for the second time. Mr. Chadwe!l moved~ ?fr~ RehburE seconded~ the ordinance be adopted for the second reading~ ~'ction carrisd~ The City Clerk read ordinance 999 for the first time providing a Supplemental Budgst~ amen,~ing Ordinance 28V~ for 0~a~ beginning Wovem,~er =~ !956~ and ending October 31, i95V, ~r~ Oyer moved the ordinance be accepted for the first readlng~ Hr~ Rehburg seconded~ ~gotion carried~ to eonsm~er the 19~7~!958 Buage~ ~fr~ Oyer said another bid for piling for the bridge had been received remounting to ~I~250~00 for all mat®rials and labor, He recommended the City go ahead with .this Zi~e~ ~ S~it~ bid ~o~ ~ae eight pili~.gs to be in accordancs with the specifications as set up by Broe~vay~ ~/~r~ Weaver mo~e~ the ~lhl~cr & Smith bid be accepted, ~r, . 0yet seconded.
