The City Clerk read the minutes of the last regular meeting Augus~ ~th. Nr~ Weaver moved~ Nr~ Oyer seconded, the Eznut~s be accepted as read~ ~otion earried~ Th~ City Clerk read three letters from the State Board of Health regarding extensions to the City water system and stressing the necessit~ for a City sewerage sysuem in view of the many new developmants~ and recommending no further per, its for ~e~t~-~ta~s in subdivisions. After discussion it was agreed the State Board of Health be infor~ed of the survey of the water sysvem by Brockv~ay~ ~eber & Brockway, dated 1958~ and of the steps already taken by the City towards getting the cost of a sewerage system from Russell & ~xon~ A letter was read from the County regarding the ~iece of land for a park, saying the request cannot be granted. After discussion it was~agreed a letter of protest be sent. do nov want a barrow ~=t ~'~. letter was read from Field & Riley Znc. requesting a re~nding s~rsement for water pipe for Block 10 of Rolling A plat of the site was shown by ~r~ Riley. Mr~ Weaver moved the-R~solution be adopted~ seconded. ~otion carried~ Hr, Oyer }~onday, September 9th. from !~00 to 2.30 P~}~ was set as the time the Council will be at City Hall to hea~ objections ~o the assessments. },~r~ Griffith read a franchise agreement co~ering the request of tk~ Lions Club to supply to th6 City benches carrying advertise- Weaver gave a report on the existing benches in the City. Mr. Oyer moved the City give the Lions Club the frsmchise they rea£~.est~ }fr~ ~,Ueaver seconded. Yotisn }{r~ Griffith said he has a deed from }~h~ Charles 2ohiS~er covering the street~R/W ard recor~ends the ~ity accept it subjecv %c completion of the street mud installation of water lines, Er~ Weaver moved the City accept the deed subjec~ to com~ pletion of the R/W amd the fulfilling of the necessary specifications regSrding waver demanded by by the City in that area~ ~r~ Oyer seconded~ Eot ion c arried~ },{r. Griffith said he Y~d received a request from the Seabord Raj lway that a R-esolution be %dopted covering an agreement for the erection of signals and two railway crossings. }!r~ Oyer moved the Resolution be adopted~ },~[r~ Cb~dwe!t seconded. ~ot ion carried~ ~/ir~ Griffith reported on zns~a~a~on of bu±k gas tarries z.,~ Royal Palm Village and stated some are apparently not in a~ public R/W~ ~_~r. Griffith read Ordinance 297 defining the msanlngs of the various zoning terms. He suggested the Counci~ foi~cw a ve~ good ordinance of the ~(unicipai Code o£f~es and that ~r~ Weaver~ Mr~ Oyer and ~r~ Chadweil go to his office to look it over. ~r~ GriFfith read Ordinance 298 based om the recommendations of the Zoning Board~ as given in their minutes of their meeting of August l~th~ amending Ordinance BO5~ ~fr. 0yet moved Ordinance 298 be accepted for the first rsading~ ~r~ Chadwell seconded~ Eotion carrisd~ Regarding ~fr~ 0gden~s bill on 40% completion of the contract~ it ~vas a~eed that this be paid~ Regarding the bid from Cyril Hart for pilings fo~ the support of a water line over the Boynton Canal at Seacrest for approximately $E83~00 a piling, Er~ Oyer~s suggestion that this be tabled and other bidders contcated was adopted~ After discussion o£ a detailed bill presented by the Chamber of Comnerce~ ~r~ 0yet moved that the bill be paid up to the amount promised by the City and provided for in the budget° ~r~ Weaver seconded~ ~otion carried~ Er~ Weaver said he had been approached by the Beachcombers~ club for permission to use the Scout hut for their meetings~ They were to be informed they must apply to the Soo~ts d~rect~ Er. Weaver moved that a license for the manufacture of alumin~ jalosies in a commercial s~ea be refused, ~r~ Oyer seconded~ ~otion ~arried~ Following a discussion on Er~ Pipes having replaced a Cit~ street near his property with a c~nal, without a permit~ the matter was tabled ~ntil >~r~ Ripes can be contacted ~d the figures checked~ The ~ayor said Jeff Davis wishes to prssen~ his house on South Federal to the City on condition it be used in the interest of boys~ it was arranged t~aat some members of the Council would inspect the property at li A.~ tomorrow~ ~r.
