Weaver moved that the minutes be accepted as read. Mr. Oyer seconded. Motion carried. A terser was read from Mr, Eugene Mahlmeiste~ requestiRg a change in zoning, and was turned over to the Planning Board. The building inspector,s report for the month of May was read, ~mo~uting to $369,$0~.00~ ~A letter was read from the Building Board requesting a fee of $28.00 be paid by contractors taking the building exmmination for new licenses who have never hadone before, and that the fee be split between members of the Board and the City. After discussion Mr._ 0yet, moved that the .......... Coun~ ~ a Resolution fix~_ng a fee a building contrac*~or~s license, and that the remainder of the~ Building Board,s request be tabled. Mr. Rehburg seconded Motion ca,tied. A letter was read requesting a permit for a service station the N.E. corner of Woolbright Road and Green Street. Mr. Reybu~g moved that the request be granted. Chadwell seconded. Motion carried. M~. Kenneth Lyman showed the Council a plan for a boat ramp and railway for them to look over. Mr, Rehburg moved that the proposal be authorised~ Mr, Oyer seconded. Motion ca,ri,dj 0~dinance Noo295 was read for the sec'ond time. Mr. Weaver moved 0rdin~nce No.295 (Zoning) be adopted for t he second reading. Mr. Oyer seconded. Motion carried. After discussion on the g~ade elevation of the ~c reage to be used by the County School Board for a Ju~nior High school, Mr, RehburE moved the Mayor be authordsed to forward a letter bo the Board oF Public tnstr~ction authorISing the exchange of property with limitations as sho~h~L in the letter of inte~t~ Mr. Weaver seconded. Motion carried. Bids on City issue of 10/1/48 bonds were opened: lo From T.M,E~ok ~ 8 M. ~ $99 plus interest. From Bessemer Investment Trust Co - 7 M. @ $97 pIus interest. Mr. Weaver m~ved the Council authorise the purchase of the 7 bonds at $97 plus interest, and any more at that price they can supply; and at the ~iscretion of the Mayor and M~s. Willi~ns the other bonds to be purchased at $99 plus interest, if no~thers are available. Mr. Oyersecondedo Motion ca~riedo After a long discussion with Mr~ Ogden ~ega~ding the contract for the proposed new City Hall, Mr. Ogden stated that if the Council does no~ approve the preliminary draw- ings he do~s not cha~ge the fee, ~d this contract will be void. Mr. Weaver moved that witch this proviso in the minutes the Mayor be authorised to sign this contract. Mr. Rehburg seconded, Motion carried. M~, Gus Thompson's reques~ for a permit to build a porch on to his house on N,E, 12th Avenue Was no~ granted as it would be against City setback ~estrictions. Police Chief Carver read a ~letter of resignation f~om Patrolman Fred Slough, and remarked that Henderson has not been replaced and the time for vacations is coming. The report of the Police Department for the month of May was read. It was agreed that Mr. Chadwell and Mr. Taylor should inspect the Seacrest bridge ac,~oss the Boynton Canal, and ~eport on its condition and suggest the necessary repairs.
