The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7.30 P.M.
Mr. Weaver moved that the City Attorney be authorised
to draw up an ordinance on subdivision requirements for study
by the City Council. Mr. Chadwell seconded. Motion carried.
Mr. Weaver moved that Mr. Grum~nons, request for $25.00
transfer from salary ~ca~a~tlowanc~e be granted, as figures were
submztt~d to show the average cost for car expense was above $89.00
per month. ~r. Chadwell seconded. Motion carried.
Mr. Weaver moved that the City donate $80.00 towards
defraying the expenses of a t~ip~6 Washing$on by ~ school patrol
~be~s. M~. Chadwell seconded. Motion carried.
Er. Partin said the Boat Club wanted to have a meeting with
the Council. No data was set for such meeting.
The Little League Baseball re,masted the City to sod their
field. Chief of Police Carver was asked to make enquiries of
the men who supply grass and report at next Monday,s Council
meeting,
A letter was read from Chief of Police Carver enclosing
one from him to the Civil Service Board regarding patrolman Hender=
SO~.
Mr. Griffith said Henderson should be notified to appear
at a certain date so that it can be decided whether he is guilty
or not; that present information is sufficient for the Depart-
men~ head to ~ischarge him.
~_ppeal to the Civil Service Board mugt be made within five
days of suspension. He mus~ be given a hearing which may be open
to the public at the discretion of the Board.
~r. Griffith suggested the ~ollowing procedure: Mr. Ives
to be notified that Henderson has now been discharged. He can
come in within five days to argue his case. He must be discharged
and then the case referred to the Civil Service Board. Chief of
Police to write to Henderson that he has been discharged on the

Following grounds: Nisfeasance, malfeasance and misconduct
while in the perfor~nance of his duties as a police officer,
and for other causes in accord wit~ Civil Service Rules and
Regulations dated 195~ and adopted by the CiVil Service Board
of Boynton Beach, Florida.
After fur~cher discussion, Nr? Chadwell moved the
Council instruct ~he Chief of Police to i~nediately and permanent-
ky discharge Henderson, carrying out the Civil Service Bo~d
regulations. Er. Weaver seconded. Notion carried unanimously.

of the members of the Council of the City of Boynton Beach, Flerida, do
separately and severally waive any and all notices required by the ordinances
of and/or the City Charter of the City of Boynten Beach, Florida, and/or the
laws of the State of Florida, of a Special Meeting of the City Council of
the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, to be held on the 8th day of April, 1957,
at the hour of 7:30 Po M. for the purpose of making a decision on the status
of Patrolman Jack R. Henderson.
