O74-37ORDINanCE NO. 74-~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 27-14 OF CHAPTER 27 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY, PROVIDING FOR AN INCREASE IN TAXICAB I~ATES AND PROVIDIN@ FOR A TAXICAb. WAITING TIM RATE, PROVIDING FOR AUTHORITY TO CODIFY, SAVINGS CLAUSE, REPEALING PROVISiIONS, A~.~EFFECTlVEi DATE~AN~~ FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, deems it necessary and advisable that the taxicab rates as set forth in Section 27~14 of Chapter 27 of the Codified Ordinances of said City be amended as her~i~af.ter provided, and that said Section further provide for a taxicab rate for waiting time. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY T~HE CITY COUNCIL.OF THE CIT~-OF~B©YNTON BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1: That Section 27-14 of Chapter 27 of the C6dified Ordinances of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, be and is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 27-14. Rates of fare--Rate card required. No owner or driver of a taxicab shall charge a greater sum for the use of a taxicab than in accord- ance with the following rates, to wit:: Eighty cents (80~) for the first one-quarter (1/4) mil~ or fraction thereof, and ten cents (10~) for each additional one-seventh (1/7) mile or fraction thereof; and the charge for waiting time shall be fifteen cents (15~) per minute or fraction thereof. Every taxicab operated under this chapter shall have a rate card setting forth the authorized rates of fare displayed in such a place as to be in view of all passengers." Section 2; Authority to Codify: Specific authority is hereby granted to codify and incorporate this Ordinance in the City's existing Code. Section 3: Separability: Each of the .provisions of this Ordinance are separable, including word, clause, phrase or sentence, and if any portion thereof shall be declared invalid, the remaining portion shall no~ be affected but shall remain zn full force and effect. parts Se___ct~ion 4. ~_epea~iing Provisions: Ail ordinances or of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
