AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING SECTION 15-2 OF CHAPTER 15 OF THE CODIFIED
ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY, PROVIDING FOR $5.00 P~EGIS-
TRATION FEE TO BE PAID BY ANY PERSON~ ENGAGED IN
ANY BUSINESS, OCCUPATION OR PROFESSION WITHIN THE
MUNICIPAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY WHO IS NOT REQUIRED
TO BE LICENSED UNDER SAID CHAPTER 15; FURTHER PROVID-
ING FOR AUTHORITY TO CODIFY, SAVINGS CLAUSE, REPEAL-
ING PROVISIONS, AN EFFECTIVE DATE AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach,
Florida, deems it necessary and advisable for the promotion
and protection of the health, safety and general welfare of the
community to require the registration of any person who engages
in any business, occupation or profession within the municipal
boundaries of said City and who is not required to be licensed
under Chapter 15 of the Codified Ordinances of said City; and
WHEREAS, a registration fee of $5.00 is necessary mn
order to meet the cos~ of maintaining such registration records;
NOW, THEP~EFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That Section 15-2 of chapter 15 of the
Codified Ordinances of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, be
and is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 15-2.
Registration required; fee; basis of one
fiscal year; penalty.
Any person who engages in any business, occupation
or profession within the municipal boundaries of the
City of Boynton Beach, Florida, not required to be
licensed hereunder, shall be registered with the
city clerk by executing an information form to be
provided by the city and by paying to the city clerk
a registration fee of Five Dollars ($5.00). The
purpose of such registration is to provide the city
with information concerning those who are doing
business within the city and, ~here appropriate to
assure the city that such persons are licensed by
the County of Palm Beach, Florida. The registration
and the payment of the registration fee shall be
upon the basis of one fiscal ye~ar. Anyone violating
this provision by failing to register the required
information with the city clerk shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor punishable as provided here-
inafter.''
Section 2: Authority to Codify: Specific authority
is hereby granted to codify and i~corporate this Ordinance in
the City's existing Code.
~ection 3: Separability: Each of the provisions of
this Ordinance are.separable, including word, clause, phrase
or sentence, and if any portion thereof shall be declared
invalid, the remaining portion shall not be affected but shall
remain in full force and effect.
~ection 4: R~.p_eatin~Provision: All ordinances or
parts of ordinances in conflict herawith are hereby repealed.
Section 5: An Effective Data: This Ordinance shall
become effective in the manner and at the time provided by law.
