The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7.30 P.M.
The minutes of the last regular meeting of November
were read.

Mr. DeMarco moved that the minutes be accepted as read.
Mr. Rehburg seconded. Motion carried.
The building report for the month of November, amounting
to $488,700.00, was read.
A letter was read from Mr. Allen King requesting that his
property on the Highway be zoned commercial full depth to the
railroad.
~. Weaver inforEed Mr. King, who was present, that his
letter would be turned over to the Planning and Zoming Boards.
A letter was read from Mr. A.P.Cottrill requesting the
closing of the alleyway alongside his property at N.E. 7th
Avenue in order that he can build a ca~port. He enclosed a
letter a letter from M2. Reece who stated he had no objection
to the closing of the alleyway.
After discussion it was agreed to turn the letter over to
the City Attorney for further study.
Mr. Grifflthmread Ordinance 290 for the second time covering
taxicab franchise for Mr. ~allace, and general ~axicab regulations.
Mr. DeMarco moved, Mr. Rehbu~g seconded, ~hat Ordinance 2~0
be adopted for the second reading. Motion carried.
Mr. Weaver asked if he could be given the ~ight to sign the
QuitClaim Deed for the piece of property in Ocean Ridge given
to Ocean Ridge when ~he town split, saying the Cit~ had ne
further interest in the property. '
Mr. DeMarco moved, Mr. Rehbu~g seconded, that the Mayor be
granted the right to sign such Quit ClalmDeed. Motion carried.
Mr. ~omberg recp estad, on behalf of the Police Department,
that the penalty for bolita convictions be increased, and that
the Concealed Weapons O~dinar~e be amended to include weapons
ca,tied in the car. The second request was turned down on the
advice of Depu_$y Sheriff Partin, and Mr. G~iffith said it
would mean r~ w~iting the Ordinance and was asked to check into
it.
Mr. Griffith again drew attention to the necessity of
bringing the City Charter up-to-date and having all ordinances
moderhised.
This matter was tabled for the first meeting of the new
year.
Mr. Taylor recommended Mr. Stone,s truck being provided with
a radio. The service rendered by Delray was said to be very
unsatisfactory. The recommendation was not agreed to.
Mr. DeMarco moved, Mr. Rehbu~g seconded, that a Resolution
be prepared regarding paving of streets in Arden Park. Motion
carried.
Mr. Henry Olson said in accordance with the wishes of the
Council expressed at the Executive meeting on November 26,
the Boat Club had drawn up an outline of their ideas, which
he read, leaving a copywith the Council,
For the infoEnation o~ the public present the Mayor said
the Boat Club had requested a plot ~00, on l~ake front x 138,, a
very small portion of She wh~l~ tPact$~' that~the p~opo~ed plan
an~ outlihe of suggestions' from th~Club would be turned oveP
to the City Attorney, and any remarks from citizens would be
appreciated.
Mr. Hunter said they had done a certain s~ount of soundings
and found a channel about 44 fee$--~wide to the property, with a
depth at low tide of ~ feet.
Mr. Herman Butts asked about his zoning request and was
told it would be For the next Zoning Board meeting.
Mr. A.B.Carter, o~R011ing Green Secon~ Addition, asked
about the present status of the pay-back water deal and, after
discussion,
Mr. Shook moved that the City go ahead as planned in the
first p~ace as it will make for good fee~ing on both sides to
avoid a lawsuit with a subdivider who has co-operated so well
with the City. .Mr. DeMarco seconded~ Motion carried.

Mr. Taylor was asked to interview a young man recommended
by Mr. Tomberg to Judge his suitability to replace Mr. Eophie
as lifeguard at the beaeh and to help with City work.
After discussion, Mr. Shook moved, Mr.DeNarco seconded,
that Mr. W,F.Devine be engaged as City Auditor, replacing Mr.
Cochran. Motion carried.
It was agreed to ask the County for shell rock for the
proposed boat l~ne~n~ng ramp.
Mr. Shook moved, Mr. DeNarco seconded, tha~.Christmas bonuses be
the same as last year. Notion carried.
After discussion, Mr. Shook moved, Mr. DeNarco seconded,
that the request o£ the Broward Grain Company for a tax
reduction on their new warehouse be refused. Notion carried.
Mr. Partin said he had been asked if the Couneil would
provide the means for the Fire Department to make coffee for
police du~ing the Boynton All Star Festival.
Mr. DeNarco moved, Mr. Shook seconded, that the City
supply the necessary articles to make coffee as.requested.
Motion carried.
Mr. Partin said he had been asked by the Shuffleboard
Club to request that the Club caretaker be given a $25.00
a month'inorease in pay. The matter was tabled.
Monday, December 10, at 6.30 P.M. was set as the date
the Appreciation Dinner for City Boards and their wives.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned
by the Mayor.
