Mayor ~hook called the meeting to order at 7:~OP. M.
Mrs. McFee presented a plat of Barrett Heights with water lines
drawn by Mr. Brockway to the council for approval. Mr. Hood made a
motion that the.city lay water pipe provided by owner and all materials
used to be up to the apprOval of F~. Christian~en. Mr. Peen seconded
the motion; motion carried. Passed unanimously.
Mrs. Gaylen Goodwin, presiden~ of the Woman's.Club, s~g~este~, that
the city employ a part time librarian for a three cay scheaule. ~ne
library is well stocked and has approximately R~O00 books and needs an
attendent; esoecially the six month period starting November let. The
council agree~ it is important that the library be attended and suggests
the matter come up at a future meeting when details are worked out.
Mr. Brand brought up the subject of approval and acceptance by the
city of their plat of Rolling Green Ridge. It has s 50 ft. right of way
and 25 fro set backs. The street pavement is 25 ft. divided by a oark-
way. Mm. Weaver moves this be accepted subject to furnishing the city
with a bond~ to cover streets and water ins%allation yet to be completed.
Mr. DeMarco seconds the motion; motion carried. Passed unanimously.
Mrs. C. 5osworth, chairman of the cemetery committee, reported that
the colored cemetery is small and is becoming overcrowded. A committee
will be set up and look into a proposed location for a new cemetery
and report its findings.
Frank Wood of Broward Grain Company said he will donate 80 ft. right
of way to Military Trail south of Woolbright Road. Mr. Hood suggested
that he write to the county co~missioners about this lend for their
consideration as the road is county property and they can entend it.
Eayor Shook said we need more approaches to our city ~nd this is a fine
gesture of ~. Wood.
Dorothy V. Will%ams~ city clerk, read the minutes of the last regular
meeting of the Counczl of ~ugust 16th~ 1951+. Mr. Weaver made a motion to
accept minutes and Mr. Hood seconded the motion, all in favor.
Minutes of a special meeting of the Commissioners on august 17th~
!95l* Were read and Mr. Weaver suggests they be accepted. Mr. DeMarco
seconded the motion. Ell in favor.
The minutes of the Pla.nning Board, Zoning Board and Cotuucil meeting
of august 23rd, 195~ were read and Mr. Hood made a motion that they be
accepted. Mr. Deen seconded the motion, all in favor. Passed unanimously
A resolution of sympathy extended to the Greenwood family was read
and accepted. Mr. Weaver made a move that the resolution be adopted.
