Joseph Ta~avella, Vice President of the Coral Ridge Development Company were present amd outlined a plan by which a Beach Club s~td be fo~med with au annual ~embership fee of ~60. Fiembers would be given ~all facilities of the swi~n~ug pool and other attractions, Out it mmst first be ascertained if there is enough interest to justify the Coral Rimge C~pany going in~o the plan. TO the objection of M~. Tergese~, President of P01~, that this might interfere with the free useof the beach by the public, to. whom the beach b~!ongs, ~. G~iffith r~plted that there will be ~o~hingto keep the p~olic from enjoying the beach free of charge~ that the su~ested project would occ~apy only $~ present ~develo~ea a~e~ of ~e beach, amd that the $6Oraembershmp fee · ~ould ~ot interfere with the promised .25 cents a day for the use of the pool. Motion carried. Several voices in the audience approved the p~rchase. The second reading of the Civil Semvice Ordinance was again postpor~d, Nr. Tergesen saying th~ P0!~ wo-~ld li~e to present their ob]~ectlons to the Council in ~iti~E. l~s. ~emons objected to ~he ter~ ,disckarged~ person applied to those let o~t on accede_ut of meduction i~ e~ployees. I~. Tergesen said many items a~e open to misinterpretation ~%r. Johnson drew attention ~o the fact that no ~embe~ of the Civil Sexy!ce Boa~d was present, although it was P~o~a~ theft the 0mdin~uce was to be discussed. The Mayor saim the Board had told him that they had met with PO-~L~ ~ud., after discussing the objections, D~d co~e to the con- clusion that the changes were not Lmportant enough to hold up the Ordinance, and the Council c~ only act on the Board~s recon~menda- tions. He added that when the Ordinance is passed all ~ew members of all Departments must have a physical examination, b'o~ not the present employees. De~iarco thought the Boynton Beach Co-operative, paying no taxes, should be i~v~stigs, ted as it is no~ used as originally intended and their building is leased out. Mr. Griffith thought the Corporation had not been dissolved and that the City can t~x them, because it is hiding~der a pretext of being a Co-ope~ative when it is not. Gringle, representing ~he o~ers of Lee Manor, pressed strong opposition ~o the re-zoning as also did ~. Ottley Scott. The deflation of D-i zone as set forth in the Zoning 0rdin~nce was read by t~e City Attorney, ~o ~lso read the D zone regulations. N~. Weaver asked whether a D-2 zone could ~e created which would exclude certain types of business. ~. Deen moved th~ the opposition ~o the zoning change of Higi~w~y No.1 be given ~en days in which to ~xpress their objections, end that the signers o£ the list received in favor of tD.e change be give~ a chance to reconsider should they wish to do so.
