City Clerk Dorothy V.Wiliimms read the minutes of the last regular ~eet~ng of the Co~cii of February !~, I ' ~k~. Shook moved, tr~. Hood seconded, that the minutes be accepted as read. z~o~lon carried. The Building Inspector's reoort for ~_,e'~ month of February was read~ amo~ntLng to $178,60~. A letter was road from Mr. W.LoCawley regarding lots I, 2 and 3 of Pa~_ Beach Country Club estates. The letter wastabled. Five bids were received on Fire Hose, the ~owes~ one being $1.83 a foot foe.bo M~. Hood moved that the lowest bid be acce~tedo Mr. Shook seconded. Motion~ar~ ~ea.~ Mr. Chester Collins said the Electrical Board had suspended his license for six months amd he had had no cbm~ce for defence. ~ Dean said he thought Mt. Collins had been notified, but as Electrical inspector Gardiner had resigned~ ~LvoCollins apparently did no~ receive a v~itten notice to ~opea_~ as he should have done ~uuder the Ordinance° It was agreed th~ Mr. Collins should be brou~at before the Board and told why he was suspended. After a long discussion~ ~.Collins was asked to pice ~ his written notification at the City Hall tomorrow mornings ~ad tb~t the Board might be able to meet within the next few days. Shook said the Cot~ucil w-ou!d be glad to sit in ~th the Electrical Board ~ the hearir~gg. M~rs. Rose Duncs~ was ass,wed that the matter of the protec- tion of cb~ildre~? at dar~erous crossings had not been forgotten, but t~hat three policemen have been sick a~ad the others have been working fifteen hours a day. A resident presented a petition signed by fifteen people ask~uag for lights on 0a~ Street and Pal~to~ The Mayor turned the matter over to l~,i~. C~isti~en for a report. Mr. Paul H~rington submitted of Cherry Hills, Harrington Homes~ of approval, but not of accepts~ce. · ~ - a tentative subdmv_s~on plat Inc., snd asked for a letter He was told that the letter would be given. Mr. Hood moved that a letter be written to the o~ers that~ ~ing to the fast that the C~ty has p~chased other lots nearby for less~ they would offer ~4o00 a front foot for the property. Mr. Shook seconded the motion~ which was carried. Regarding a water hydr~at for the La~e! Hills development~ Mr. Griffith suggested that each property owner should be assessed for his share of the work~ ~s it was agreed that the City could not bear the cost of approxzmately ~l~00.00. Pipes that each of the City organisations should be asked to give two or three lights to the City. The ~ayor said the Co~cil m~ast orod the scheme ~ong, and that Mr. Pipes should be informed by better that the Co~issioners had discussed his suggestion and thought it ~ excellent one. The Mayor said the d~mp was in serious condition and must be attended to qui~k!y. He ~uggested going out with Mr. Deem and working out some scheme. Regarding a request from Quik-Chek for a ~ud wine license, ~. Hood moved that this be Shook s~conded the motion v~mich was carried. carr~y-out beer anted. Mr. It was stated that Mr. j.~f. Pipes wishes to resign fr~s.~the Resources and Development Board, aud Mr. Hood suggested ~ir.Walter Bienemann for memberahip in his place and, subject to his accept- ance, he was appointed~ In case Mr. Biememar~u does not accept, ~. Paul Harrington has agreed to accept membership. A request 'Eot per~ssion to build negro houses on Green Street opposite the Hydroponic farm was tgoled. A suggestion was received from I,~. Sehrimper that lights be provided for the ball park, s~d asking if achmission charges could be made. It was agreed that a~mission charges could legally be made, ~ud that lights there would be desir~ole. A letter was read from the local Red Cross Committee request- ing that the Mayor issue a ?roclamatlon rega~ding the drive this month. Purinton Mr. A.E.Shock Mr. A.W.Deen Mr. C.H.Hood Mr. C.Star~ley W~aver Mayor Purinton called the meeting ~o order ao 5:00 P.M., and stated that the purpose of this meeting was %o pass a resolution, requesti~ the County of Palm Beach to convey to the City for M~mici~x~l p~rposes a tract of land approximately 14 acres in area in Sec.16-45,43.Also ko approve a License Agreement with Rinker Materials Corporation, drawn by the City Attorney. Both the resolution and t~ license agreement were read in full by the City Clerk. Mr° Shook made the motion, seconded by Mr. Hood~ that both the resolution requesting conveyance of properties from the Cou~uty, and the license agreement with Rinker Materials Corporation, be adopted and executed.
