~Jt. T. Bedford Jones said the Natior~l Association for Stock Car
-w~cing, v~hich has been holding its a~uuat meetings a~ Daytona Be~ch, can
no longer do so owin~ retreat estate problems. He suggested that this
year's meeting of l~ovember 29 for qualifying the cars be held in Palm
Beach County, vfnich can use the Boca B~ton airfield for the event, and the
races to Be held at the Palm Beach Speedway. He asked that a letter be
sent ~o the Association az Daytona Beach inviting them to come to Palm
Beach Co~3_uty.
~Y~yor ~rinton said the Co~issioners vould be very happy zo extend
the invitation.
~r. Todd of N.E. 8th Street asked t~hat weeds recently cut by the
City along his street be cleaned up, and v,~s told that the matter v~ould%
be attended to.
Er. Fredrich said that some people have taken advantage of the City
trash collection and have put out too much trash on the streets, sometimes
only a co~.ple of days after each cleaning up. He expressed the opir~fon
t~t charMss shoul~ be ~ade for extra cleani~g.

Christiansen's ho~se, ~r. Jo~b_uson stated that this has bee~ paid for,
~nd ~ayor ~rinton offered to sho~ the cancelled checks sho~ing t5~t the
shel~ had been paid for by ?fr, Christiansen and ~iro G~ee~3;ooa. Regardin~
the use of City equipment, the 7%yor said the City %vas always v~illin~ to
help.
~Ur. ~olendo raised the ~uestion of p~vment for the ase of City %rater
hose in connection ~lth laying foundations of the Boynton Betel by Er.

~r. Shook said he ~ould find ou~ definitely v?nat he paid.
There were several oor~.~plaints of water lyir~g in the streets after the
recent heavy rains and ~ayor Purinton ~- ~

Mr. Eolendo complained that roads had been t~ken care of by~u inex-

nor by~ 0r~nance but ~by Resolutions passed by the Council and recorded in
the 5~nutes, wher~ it'w~.s agreed that no streets should be acceoted v~thout
the p~ent of ~u inspection fee. ~
There were several complaints about excessive water bills ~nd Mr.
%~eaver said that all meters complained of are inspectsd by ~ir. Christiansen
if wrong, repaired.

the recommendation of the people employed to give it.

October !, 1953, enquiring about the price of the property North of Boyn-
ton Co-Op.
The Mayor said there was nol right of way to the property.
Mr. Sh~ok t~ught that the property could not be sold, and that the
Citykowns it, with restrictions,for mu~uc~pal' purposes only.
}Ir. Griffith and Mrs. Williams were asked to dheck into the matter.
.Mr° Griffith said the only way to get the title would be te p~t it back
on the Court House steps.
Mr. Kolendo ~aid he would like to study the disposition of City f~nds
and be assured that access can be had to the City? books to disprove
rumors that are going round.
The Mayor said a definiteaappointment must be made with the City
Clerk~ when he com!d go over any ho~k in the City Hall.
M~r. Kolendo asked about Crest View and payment for the streets
therein.
Mr, Johnson said that Mr. Purinton had paid for everyhroado
Hr, Griffith read the Budget in a tentative rom for the first time.
He said a copy will be placed on the bulletin beard tomorrow afternoon for
examinatio~ by anyone intereeted.
Mr. P~rinton, after the reading, asked for opinions from the public.
Mr. Weaver moved and Mr, Fredrich seconded that the Budget be
accepted for,.the first reading. Motion passed ~nanimously,
Mr. Johnson asked about the amount allotted to roads and, when told
$~,000.80 for mew construction, said we must have better roads even if it
means h~gher ~axes, or progress of the City will end.
Mr. Shook said it will prohably come to an assess~ent~
Mr. Griffith said a SignOrdmnance' would be ready for~ the next meeting.
Mr. Criffith read an Ordinance approved by the Attorney General,s
Office and by the Suprame Court on a Police Officers' Retirement Law.

the Ordinance coverir~g Civil Service status for the City employees, the Actuary

mously.
To fill the two places left Yacht by the resignations of two members of
the ~oniago Board, the names of ~roJoseoh W.Todd ~ud ~r. ~alter Nola.u were
