The City Clerk said they were getting more and more
work and getting behind with all of it. She added that
they D~d needed this machine years ago.
[~. Fredrich said it would take several months to set
the thing up but that it is practically a necessity,
~. Fredrich moved and I'll.Weaver seconded that the
City purchase an addressograph m~ehine as demonstrated by
~. ~ohn Graham this evening, at a price of approximately
~3,79.00, including necessary supplies. Motion passed unam-
mo~s~y.
After some discussion Mr. Purinton suggested authority
be given to ,~[rs. Williams to add another clerk to personnel.
~o Yack Webster, at the request 0f N~.. Frtdri¢~, des-
cribed the "Paekmaster'truck frcm the F~orzda, ~eorgza
Tractor Co., which he had demonstrated mn the City last
Wednesday. He sai~ they had collected garbage from about
6.50 A.M. until noon, and the truck was not then anywhere
near full. a~dnthere was a saving in time over the Garwood
packer, which was 3 to i over our present truck

The City Clerk read the details of the truck.
Mr. Fredrich made a motion, seconded by ~ir. Hood~
that the City purchase the Packmaster truck which has been
used for demonstration purposes only by the Florida, Georgia
Co., for ~6,860.00 on a cash basis. ~otion passed unan-
imously.
On the reccmmendation of ~. YoK.(Jack) Sharp, who
has the maintenance contract on the water tank, Mr. Hood
suggested e letter be written to the Electro Rust-Proofing Co.
requesting inspection and replacement of worn cathodic
rods as per their contract.
~ir. W.E.Keen, an auditor from West Palm Beach, gave
his qualifications for the job of C.P.A. ~or the City.
He said compensation is usually based on a daily rate,
engagements for business firms are always made on a time
basis, cities and terms on a per diem payment. He added
that the use of an eddressograph vmuld save hundred of
dollars and could possibly do mu auditor ou~ of his job.
He said he did not wish to give his cries Unless no other
firm was {o be considered; that 75%-to 85% of%he work
could be dons by a less fully ~ualified auditor who would
be less expensive, such as s young man %~no is filling in
his time in the =,ate before coming under the Florida laws.

Mr. Shook said something must be done towards getting
an auditor but that more than one bid must be received.

consideration of the Council.
~. Shook made a motion, sec.~uded by ~. Fredrich,
that the plat of Dubonair Estates be accepted. Motion
passed unanimously.

!~r. Fredrich said he had sooken to the Finance Officer
of the Legion and his understanding was that the w~iters
of the letters wished to withdraw them as the matter has
now been rectified and there had been no,disturbance sines

A better was read from Mr.Snider requesting a beverage
license for his restaurant. ~r. Snider was present an~ said
700 sc. ft. of floor space will be a~ded to the dining room
to make up the necessary &,O00 sq. ft. He said he must get
permission from the Council before adding the floor space
to meet the requirements of the County.
~r. ~&~eaver said the presenv Ordinance stipulates that
no license can be granted within 2500 ft. from a church,
a school, or public park, and that the Snider restaurant
is close to the Ball Par~ The only way~ could be grant-
ed would be under the hardship clause. Snlder plans
s service bar, but no seats at the bar.
k%r. Fredrich moved and ~Ir. Hood seconded that it meets
the approval of the Council that the license be granted to
Nr. Snider. ~otion cussed unanimou ly.
Mr. Fredrich reported on a tD~ee day inspection tour
which he had made with~Lr. ~edge~d genes, the Health
Officer~ off.sanitary conditibns in colored tow~. He des-
cribed in detail the very bad conditions they had found
in the many houses they had entered. He said iv is going
to be quite a job for the Health Department ~nd Boynton to
clear up these conditions; that the people ~n colored tovca
need education in these'matters, and as things are at present
they are a danger to the health of the people in whose ~uses
they work. He added that the Building inspector should be
required to go over there and inspect the houses, as many
of them should be condemned.
~r, Jones described the t~rrible conditig~s of many 9f

there, and that in the meantime the area of co~tamination
is spreading. He added that the people there can buy
expensive cars and can therefore pay for the watar.

that the City Clerk be instructed to wrz'0s letters
violators of the law covering sanitary arrangeSents, gzvzng
them ten days in which to start visible improvements, and
thirty days in which ~o ~omplete the project. Motion
passed maanimously.
There was a discussion on the condz~zon of the Sills
building near the new development of k~. Boos, which had
been damaged in the 1947 hurricane.
Mr. Fredrieh ~ade a motion: seconded by ~r.~eaver,
that a letter be written to ~r. Sills telling him that the
building had been dondemnad and giving him ten days in
which 5o decide whether he will put it in condition or have
it destroyed. ~otion passed unanimously~

take care of the cemetery, which cannot now be neglected
after so much money has been spent on z~.

hire somebody at not over $75.00.00 a month for weeding,
watering, cutting and dgzng for the next couple of months.

mission consider requesting l~r.Griffith to attend all meet-
ings of the Zoning Board, so that he will be able to advise
them and also see how things are done in order to have the
Ordinances brought up to date. He suggested ~r.Griffith

al License Ordinance and that it was now ready for submission

special meeting ane day to consider it, as it will take a
long time to discuss.
~r. Fredrich said last Sunday a dog was running wild
a~ the Casino and the ov~ers defied a request to remove it.
The police said there was nothing in the Ordinance to pre-
vent it. i~r. Fredrich said neighborih~ cities have
Ordinances covering this nuisance, but he i~ advised they
are expensive to enforce.

total cost of the streets.

governing National cemeteries and found that in most cities
if a veteran dies in the home land and cannot afford to
purchase a plo~, the city pays; if a veteran is killed

the line of duty, t~e.eity pays. He added that it is now
possible to get a f~rzng squad from ~orrison Fi~ld.
