Minutes 06-19-50MINUTES OF THE REGU!AR MEETING OF ~ CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORID~ HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON THE 19th. OF JU~E 1950 at The City Council convened at the regular meeting at the City Hall, 7:30 P.M. June 19th, 1950. Councilmen Presents Mr. F. L. Purinton Mr. A. E. All Councilmen agreed. ~ discussion was held on the advisability of asking for bids for gasoline for City vehicles. It was decided that the City will ask for bids. ~ letter was read from the Rest Coast Highways Association asking for a donation from the City to secure more "HOLIDAY HIGHWAYS" macs. After discussion pro & con Mr. Hood made the m6tion that ~100.00 be given eachthe Palm Beach County Resource Bevelopment Board and the Esst Ceast Highways Association, instead of the usual $200.00'to the HDB. Mr. Rrovince second- ed the motion and it passed unanimously. ~ letter was ordered to Mr. Geo. Getz in answer to his request that Orange Ave. be rpaired~stating that the Coo_ucil realizes the need of repair. However they can not promise any definite time, but assure Mr. Getz that they will get to it as soon as possible. Relative clearing the title for Lots in Robert's Add. sold to Mr. T.B. ¥~itfield, Attorney Robert Griffith report- edit the property was dedicated to the City by the County for Municipal purposes only, thus should not have been sold. He suggested the City Reimburse Mr. Whitfield the price he paid for the lot, olus taxes paid by him. The City can then request the County remove the dedication and place the lot in oosition to be sold at auction t~ the highest bidder. Mr~ Morgan McCormack of Miami was represented~by a Mr. Robinson who cited his clients desire to remove the ace~age in Sec~ ~gleased by him from the Lake Worth Drainage Dmstrict from the incorporated limits of the City. An ordinance on restricting the use of sheet metal with- in the City was read but rejected~ same to be redrawn for the next regular meeting. Following a discussion on the misuse of Fire Equipment page in the past, Mr. Hood made a motion, seconded by Mr. Province and oassed unanimously tn~t the fol~lowing resolution be adopt ed. RESOLUTION WITE~REAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach~ Florida~ that certain unknown persons have been using~ damaging~ and taking without prooer authority certain oroperty belonging to the Fire Dept- merit of the City of Boynt~n Beach, Florida, ~TEREAS, by the misuse of said property the Fire Department has been uRable to be at a standard of efficiency necessary for the call of duty occasioned by the afore mentioned -wrongful acts~ now, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, that no o~son shall use~ borrow, or move any of the equioment belonging to the Fire Department or use, borrow, or move any of the equipment assigned for use of the Fire Department of the City of Boynton BeacS, ~ t Florida~ wi~hou ~ first securing written permission to borrow ~nay such equioment from the Fire Chief of said deoartment~ or in the event ~f his absence said permission shall-be secured from his next in command, BE IT FURTP~R RESOLVED that any sunhviolation of th~s resolution shall subjec~ the violator to such action as the City Council shall direct.
