Consisting of the Commissioners and Various individus!$ of the
andof BoyntOnproposedBeaCh,changes.for the PUrpose of discussing the City Charter City
Mayor Mercer called the meeting to order promptly at 8:00
He explained the reason for the meeting and asked for COMments.
Mr. Fred Benson commented in favor of a five-man Commission.
He stated The City of Boynton Beach is the only one of 17 municipalities

Mrs. Toe Leer asked that a provision be made in the charter for
a recreation center.
Mr. C. Miller commented in favor of a five-man commission for
the reason that all communities would be represented He is also in
favor of a City ~ager.
Mr. M. Partin spoke in favor of the five-man COmmission.
Mr. Harry Benson felt a five-man commission would eliminate a

e=! of trouble and would introduce more harmony in the City.

Mr. H. D. Stevens sooke in favor of police being appointed by
the commission and stressed they should not be elected.

Mayor Mercer requested a motion made to appoint a committee of
five men to insert th~ proposed changes in the charter. Mr. Seegitz
made motion to appointa committee of five men to rewrite charter, this
was seconded by Mr. Williams. ill oresent in favor.
