OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH~ FLA.

A motion was m=de by Mr. Tattersall and seconded by Mr. Benson that
a f~mud of $2~00. be set aside for the Boynton Beach Youth Council to
be used only by approval of the Commission.
A letter was received from the Hockenberry System Inc. concerning
the possibility of construction of a hotel in the City. Representatives
from the Company are to contact the City Commissioners in regard to
same.
A resolution was passed as follows:
~gHEREAS~ the South Lake Worth Inlet District has made apolication
to the United States District Engineer Office for a permit to construct
bulkheads in the waters of Lake Worth on either side of the South Lake
Worth Inlet Channel~ and
WHEREAS~ there is a large fresh water canal running through
Boynton Beach~ which canal pours larg,e volumes of muddy water full of
suspended muck and frequently large volumes of hyacinths into the
waters of Lske Worth~ and further that a large amount of sewage is
disseminated into the waters of Lake Worth? and
%~iEREAS, there are at the oresent time larg~ acc~zmulated deposits
in the waters of Lake Worth~ which all but obliterate the inlet channel
and have created large sand shoals in the channel, and the areas adjacent
~neret ~ and
W-HEREAS~ it is imoerative to the sanitary conditions of the waters
of Lake Worth~ as well as to navigation~ that the South Lake [gortn
Inlet channel be kept open at all times for the proper flow of tide
waters in. andout of Lake Worth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED~ by the City Commission of the City
of Boynton Beach~ Florida:
I, That the South Lake Worth inlet District be gra~ted a oermit
by the Wa~ Department enabling said District to construct bulkheads along
its channel within the waters of L~ke Worth~ so as to provide~ that the
South Lake Worth Inlet will at all times be kept open for the proper
flow of tide water in and out of Lake W'orth.
2, That the south end of Lake Worth be kept open by means of the
Sout~, La~e Worth Inlet so that the highest degree of sanitation may be
maintained in the waters of Lake Worth.
3. Thst said bulkheads be so constructed as to also provide
settling basins from which excessive meposm~s may be remco, ed and prevent
the creation of large sand shoals.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a general election of the
qualified electors of the City of Boynton Beach~ Florida, will be
held in and for the City of Boymton Beach, Floridas on Monday~ the
i~th day of April A.D. 1957.
Such General election will be held for the purpose of
electing a Mayor-CoMmissioner for the municipality of Boynton
Beach.
Nominations for such office shall b!e made~ and such general
election shall be conducted~ according to the ordinances of the
City of Boynton Beach? Florida$ and the laws of the State of
Florida applicable thereto:
The poling olace will be at the ?avilioo located at the
Shuffleboard'Court, in such City of Boynton Beach~ Ftorida~ and
the polls shall be ooen from 8 o'clock A.M. to 6 o'clock P.M.
of such l~th day of April ~.D. 1947.

By action of the Commissioners~ the taxes owed by Elnora ~ll~_u
onLot 13~ Block l~ Section 21~ Town of Boynton will be settled on the

The letter received from Martin W. Wiltlams requesting a

B. V. Tattersal! having submitted his resignation as Vice Mayor~
Commissioner of the Municipality of Boynton Beach~
Such resignation having come on for consideration ~ud numerous
residents~ taxpayers and-electors having requested the said B~ V.
Tattersall to reconsider his action and withdraw his resignation~
and Mr. Tattersall ~aving made kmov~ his desire to withdraw his
resignation so tendered to the Co~mmission~
Thereupon Commissioner Benson moved: That the Cor~mission do
permit Mr. Tattersa!l to withdraw his resignation~ and further that
the Com~mission consider suchresignstlon to have been withdrawn. Such
motion was seconded by Commissioner-Mayor Mercer.

Commissioner Benson voting aye~ Commissioner Tattersall notvoting.
Thereupon such motion was declared passed by Mayor Mercer.

in session assembled March 14~ 19~7~ as follows:
!. That the Mayor~ headof the legislative body and Tax
Assessor (or other officials may be desi~ated bk' ordinance) are
hereby designated to agree with the Board of County Commissioners on
the fixing of valuations in accordance with law on lands acquired by
Palm Beach County for delinouent taxes.
