The regular meeting of the City Commissioners of the City of
Boynton Beach convened at City Hal! on Tuesday, June 3~ 1947 at
2.00 P.M. Those present were:

B~ V. Tattersalt~ Vice Mayor
G!arenee Benson, City Clerk
A thorough discussion was had concerning the foundation for
the 500~000 gallon elevated water tank. Those bids entertained so
far are the followmng.
M. ~. Crabtree - $32.00 per Cubic yard in
place in forms.
Cleary Bros. Construction Co. - $9~6~0.OO
In view o£ discrepan6ies existing between bids and estimates of
work wnmch wm~l have to be done~ it was decided by the Commissioners
that a conference will have to be had with engineers to determine
just what will have to be done and what the cost of such oneration
wil~ be. This conference will be had in the very near future.
T. B. 'w~itfield appeared before the Commissioners with the
request that he be granted two weeks with pay at his salary at the
time he was Police Chief inasmuch as he was employed for over a year
without a vacation. The Commission ruled that such payment be given
himin the amo-~ut of
Messrs. Lassig and Zi!l appeared before the Commissioners with
an appeal for a reduction in assessed valuation of six and three-quarters
acres of land in the south end of town. The Commissioners assured
Messrs~ Lassig and Zill that the situation will be examined thoroughly
and a reduction~made as soon as oossible.
A bill was received for police phone which had been installed
in T. B. ~itfield~s home when he was Police Chief. The bill was
turned over to Mr. Whitfield but inasmuch as the ohone is against
the City of Boynton Beach~ action must be taken soon to place it in
a city officis~ or employe's home which placement is necessary to the
smooth operation of the City. Mr. Tattersall will t~ke this ~o
further so no further action was taken.
