Councilmen present were: Mr. B. V. Tattersall, Mr. Ralph Ross Mr. F. L. Purinton Mr. Clarence Benson Er. W. T. Woolbright Mayor The mlnmtes of the regular meeting of May 17th, and the special meeting ef May 2$th, were read and approved. Motion was made by Mr. Purinton, seconded by Mr. Ross~ and unaminously carried that a traffic light be purchased and installed at this intersection. Motion was made by Mr. Purinton, seconded by Mr. Ross and unaminously carried, that the City appropriate $t50.00~to the American Legion for their ar~uual ~th of July celebration. Mr.~ C. y. of the discuss Superhi sented the Road 9, through City owned property, and pre- letter: "Board of County Commissioners, Palm Beach County, Commission of the City of Boynton Beach~ Florida: Gentlemen: to the City It is my understanding that while your body is entire- ly willing to cooperate with the County and State Road Depart- ment in furnishing right-of-way from its lands for the con- struction of the Jacksonville-Maimi Superhighway, State Road 9, and that there are certain practical difficulties in that the proposed road cuts through the major part of the City's disposal grounds and also through the colored cemetary. The Chairman of the Board, of County Commissioners has authorized me to assure your body that in consideration of the execution of State Road Department deeds 78 and 1i9~ for the above project~ the County is entirely willing to: (a) Dig or pay for the digging of trench capacity com- ~rab~? t? that now held by the City~ and which will be rendered ~ usao±e oy reason of the deeding of the riMht-of-wayo (b) To remove or pay for the removal of such bodies now interred in the colored cometary, as the deeding of the road right of way will make necessary. In addition~ the County will cooperate with ths City officials by ma~ing available to the City comparable lands from any now held by it for disposal grounds and cemetary. Miss Ann Barrett, of the Coastline Realty Company~ re- quested the City Council to make available for sale 60 acres of City proper~y in Section 3~ for which she has a purchaser. Following discussion, motion was made by Mr. Woolbright, second- ed by Mr. Tattersall, and carried~ that all .City owned property be taken off the market~ and the Clerk instructed to so notify all realestate dealers. Mr. Parks, Mr. ~amb and Mr. Soeer apneared before the meeting and requested the City to sell and/~ lease land to-be acquired by the City from the State, which is north of Lake Ave. and between the Seaboard Air Line Railroad R/W and the new ~erhiEhway, State Road 9~ for the purpose of establishing a o operative Produce Market. Following discussion, motion was made by Mr Purinton~ seconded by Mr. Benson, and uuaminously carried, that the land above requested be made available to the Co-operative Market. Motion was made by Mr. Woolbright, seconded by Mr. Purinton, that the City Council hold one meeting per month -6- during the months of J~mue~ July and A'agusto Motion carried unaminousty.
