Minutes 11-15-48MINUTES OF THE REGUL~R MEETING OF THE CITY COU~CIL OF THE CITY OF BOk~'TON BEACH~ FLORIDA~ HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON THE I~TH DAY OF NOVEMEER~ 1948. The City Council convened at a regular meeting at the City Hall, on November 15th~ 1948~ at 7:30 P.M. Councilmen oresen~ were: M~. W. T. Woolbright, Mr. Ralph Ross Mr. F. L. Purinton Mr. Clarence Benson Mayor pro tem Minutes of the regular meeting of November 1st, 1948, were read and adopted. Minutes of the special meeting of November 8th, 1948~ were read and adooted. A motion was made by Mr. Purinton~ seconded by Mr. Benson, that a Resolution be prepared on the death of Mr. Tattersall~ anm~ that a copy be sent to the family. Motion carried unaminously. A card of appreciation was read from Mrs. Edith Tattersall. A Resolution on the death of Mr. Tattersall~ from the City of Lantana was read, and ordered filed. Motion was made by Mr. Wooibright, seconded by Mr. Benson, and unaminously carried~ that M~s. Edith Tattersall be appoint- ed Councilman to finish the unexoired term of Mayor Tattersall. Motion was made by Mr. Benson, seconded by Mr. Ross~ and unaminously carried, to hold over the election of a Mayor until the next regular meeting. The Treasurer's report, as of this date, was read and accept- ed as follows: General Fund $1,931.38 interest & Sinking Fund 2~638.4! Water Fund ~ - 439.90 Water Interest and Sinking Fusad 2~400.00 Meter De~oritors' Fund 4~722.~0 Special Imorovemen~ Fund - 321.22 Motion was made by M~. Shook The Clerk was instructed to have ballots orepared, and notice Oublished~ posted on door of City Hall~ a~nouncing ~ R~im~r~ Election will be held at the Shuffleboard Court on November 23rd, 1948. The following oersons were aopointed to serve on the election Board: Jack Sch~ueider - Clerk Mrs. Frances Daly - Inspector Mrs. Clara White - Miss Wyima S!avens- Mr. O.Z. Lunsford Inside Deputy Mr. John Richardson - Outside Deputy. Motion was made by Mr. Ross, seconded by Mr. Benson, and carried~ that the above aooointments as made by the Mayor be accepted. Col. C. Robert Forbes appeared before the meeting and requested the. City to rock Harding Avenue, west from Green St. for a distance of about 100~ to gain entrance to his property He stated he intends to build a residence on this oroperty. The Council agreed to cooperate wdth Col. ForBes, Mr. Ross and Z'~r. Woolbright agreed to insOect the work to be done. M ' ~otmon was made by Mr. Ross, seconded by Mr. Benson, and carried that the request of Mr. W. E. Shook to build three new shuffleboard courts at the Shuffleboard Park be granted. Mr.~ Shook offered to furnish the forms, and the labor, the City will~furnish-~ the materia!~ and take out the Man~o~ tree and grass. Bids ~_o_ the~ electrical work will be requested later. Mr. Forney Horton requested the City Co-~_ncil to donate five acres of land on Miller Street and Lake Avenue to the Am- erican Legion to be~ used as a ball field, picnic grounds, etc., This is City owned land.
