A Motion was made by Mr. Ross~ seconded by Mr. Benson~
and unaminously carried~ that a "Police Department Change F'~ud''
of $!00.00 be set uo and that all monies collected by the Police
Deoartment be turned over to the City Clerk before the close of
business daily.
Motion was made by.Mr° Benson~ seconded by Mr. Ross° that
~o_~kmen s Co~ensation ?olmcy US-83306~ wm~n the Travelers insurance
Company be accepted. Motion carried.
Letter of resignation of Mr. C. L. '-cCoy~ City Attorney
was read. Motion was made by Mr. Benson~ seconded by Mr. Ross and
unaminously carried that Mr. McCoy's resignation be acceoted with
regrets.
g letter was read from the Florida ~ast Coast Railway Co~
signed by Mr. T.B. Bettett~ Tax Agent~ regarding 1948 tax assess-
ment of the Railroad's property. Mr. G.B. Gorman~ Asst. Tax Agent~
aopeared before the meeting to further explain the railroad's
ooint of view on the assessment. Following discussion~ motion was
made by Mr. ourinton~ seconded by Mr. Ross: and carried~ that all
members of the City Co,oil famiiarize themselves with the location
of ~he proOerty: and that the letter be table~ until the first meet-
ing in January~ 1949.
Motion was made by Mr. Ross~ seconded by Mr. Purinton~ and
unaminous!y carried that Liiiie M. Norris be granted homestead ex-
emotion on: Lots 1 & 2~ olk. 2~ ~eoa_d-~unk Adazomon~ smnce the~
County h~s granted same. Tax redu'~ed from $7~.k0 to $26.~0.
Motion was made by Mr. Ross~ seconded by Mr. Benson~ that
the 1948 taxes~ amounting to ~J166.~7 be aba~ed on the following
proDerty~ which was sold by Palm Beach County:

An anplication for a Beer and Wine License was received
from Alfred Wright~ Wells Avenue~ and_ from the America~ Legion
Post No, 286~ Central Avenue. Motion was made by Mr. Ross~
seconded by Mr. Benson and carried~ that these licens~be granted.
A letter was read from the Secretary of the Kiwanis Club~
stating the Club was willing to coooerate with the night light%rig
at the Oence Park baseball diamond~ and further~ that the Club
would take care of the lighting of the Community Christmas Tree,
Motion was made by Mr. Benson~ seconded b? M~. Ross~ and
unaminous!y carried~ that the City Purchase 22 chairs at $3.00
each~ and 3 chairs at $6.00 each~ from the C!ine-Pautch American
Legion oost No. 164~ for use at the Boynton Casino am~ the
Shuffleboard Court.
Motion was made by Mr. Ross~ seconded by Mr. ?urinton~
and unaminously carried that all City e~loyees on a monthly
bas is~ and emoloyed for a oeriod of six months or longer be
given a Christmas gift of
Motion was made by Mr. Woolbright~ seconded by Mr. Ross~
and carried that Mr. Purinton be 7aid the balance of $25.00 due
on Council fees for the month of March.
A letter from Duke Steel for a position on the Police De~,
partment was read and ordered filed.
Mrs. Ella Adams aooeared before the meeting and requested
the City to out a selling o~ice on 40 acres of City land in Sec-
tion 33~ par% of which is on Woolbright Road. Purchases wants
this land to remove sand from same. Motion was made by_Mr. Benson,
seconded by Mr. Ross~ and unaminously carried that Mrs. Adams'
offer to sell this land be rejected.
A letter was read from Mrs. Alma A. Cline~ requesting a
two y~ar lease on the Boynton Casino~ beginning January !~ 1949o
Following discussion~ a motion was made by Mr. Ross~ seconded.by
Mr, Benson~ that the City Attorney be consu!ted~ and a lease
executed by the Mayor and City Clerk.
The following vote was had:
In favor of lease on Casino~ Mr. Woolbright~ Mr. Ross
and _Mr. Benson.
Against lease of Casino~ Mr. ?urinton.
There being no further business~ the meeting agjourned.
