The City Co~uncit convened at a regular meeting at Ha!l, At V:30 P,M.~ June 9th., 1949. Councilmen -Present: the Mr. F. L. Purinton, Mayor Mro A. E. Shook ~r. C. H. Hood Yn~. W. T. Woolbrigl~fc ~fm · R~ph Ross meeting was called to order by Mayor Po~intono ~inutes of the regular meeting of May 18th., 1949 were read. Motion made by Mr. Woolbright, seconded by Nrc Hood and unaminously carried that minutes be adopted as read. Minutes of the special me et~ug of May 25tho~ 1949 were ~ead~ Under consideration that our dump must be moved in order ~o make R~ for new highway and the lack of space it will be impossible for the City of Boynton Beach to accept Ridge Grove,s garbage for disposal. Discussion was held relative to improving the cemetary. Zt was suggested that all monies derived from the sale of cemetery plots be turned over to a Board of Governors ef Boynzon Beach Memorial Park.. This Board of Governors to have full and gosolute Control of cemetary. Pending legal advice from the attorney this matter was tabled. A letter from Attorney,Jack Collie, now in Pratt General Hospital, Miami, was read by Mayor Purinton. Motion was made by Mr. Ross, seconded i~yd~[r. Shook and uu~minously carried that legal notice be published in the Boynton Beach News relative to Equalization Board meeting July 12th., 1949, from 9:00 AoMo to 12,~00 noon mud from l:O0 P.M. to 4:00 PM. The City Clerk was instructed to contact the attorney r~lative to the legal procedure to appoint a Vice Mayor for the City of Boynton Beach. Such Vice Mayor authorized to depositories.C°~nte~sign~ ~ all checks and vouchers to be drawn on *~ne ~l~,y~'~ A card of acknowledgement from Y~s. Eora Heaton and family was received thanking the City of Boyntca Beach for f~oral remembrance of Mr. 0. S, Heaton. ~u application for building inspector from _,V~. 0yet was tabled. The question was raised whethsr or not to allow a 5% discount on punch board stamps to punch board distributors. No ~ecision was reached. Rev. B~ocksmm~h appeared before the Ci~ty Council requesting a caution light or stop light be placed on the corner of Green Street aud Lake Avenue to slow down traffic at this intersection. A motion was made by Nfo Ross, Seconded by Mr. Hood and un~minously carried that the stop light currently located at Wells Ave. and the Federal Hwy. be moved to intersection of Lake Avenue and Green Street. Mr. Jack GarSner appeared before the City Council requesting a Beer & Wine License. A motion was made by Mr. Ross, seconded by ~. Hood and unsmineusly carried that a Bser & Wine license be issued to Jack Gar~uer. Such new license to be located in the new b~ilding being errectsd by Mr. Gardner on Lot 5, Nerr~t s S/D.
