Minutes 10-03-49MINUTES OF THE REGULk~ MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH~ FLORIDA, HELD AT THE CITY HALL ON THE 3RD DAY OF OCTOBER 1949 The City Council convened at the regular meeting at Hall, at 7:30 P.M.~ October 3, 1949 Councilmen Present: the City Mr. F.L. Purinton~ Mayor Mr. A. E. Shook Mr. C. H. Hood Mr. Ralph Ross Mr. W. T. Woolbright The meeting was called to order by the Mayor. Minutes of the regular meeting of Sentember 6th, 19~9~ were read. Motion made by Mr. Woolbright~ seconded by Mr. Shook and unaminously carried that minutes be adopted as read. Minutes of the Special Meeting of September 19th, 19~9 were read. Motion was made by Mr. Ross seconded by Mr. Woolbright and unamiously carried to appropriate $25.00 for Pro-football team - Legion Red Raiders. Mr. Shook moved the adoption of the following resolution: - 3 - Thereupon such resolution was read in full by the City Clerk and fully considered and discussed by members of City Council with benefit of advice from the City Attorney. Mr. Hood seconded the motion for the adoption of such resolution and upon vote being taken the motion was unamiously passed. Thereupon Mr. Purinton as Mayor and presiding officer declared such resolution to have been regularly and unamiously passed and adppted as a resolution of the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach~ Flao Motion made by Mr. Woolbright seconded by Mr. Hood and amiously carried to adopt the following Ordinance: ORDINANCE NO. 222 AN ORDINANCE LEVYING AND IMPOSING AN EXCISE OR PRIVILEGE T~XU?ON THE SALE~ RECEIPT~ ~URCH~SE, SESSZON, CONS TION, H DLING, AND USE OF CIGARETTES IN THE CITY OF BOYNTON B~ACH PROVIDING FOR THE METHOD OF COLLECTION; PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENDITURE OFT HE FUNDS DERIVED THF~EFROM; PROVIDING FOR %~E EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND ~ARTS OF ORDINANCES IN COh~'mICTHEREWITH. ~Ir] Purin~On recommended to reserve the shuffle board for P. T. A. Monday'night October 31, 1959. Mr. Purinton recommended motion made by Mr. Hood seconded by Mr. Woolbright and unamt~sly carried that Mr. N.O. Marshall be appointed "Sargeant, with salary raise of $2~.00 per month tb take effect October 1st, 19~9. Mr. Purinton recommende~d to give citizens on Boynton Road , ~ ree~ of pipe.
