The City Council convened at the regular meeting at the City
Hall~ at 7:30 P.M., October 17, 1959

The meeting was called to order by the Mayor.
Minutes of the regular meeting of October 3rd~ 1959 and minutes
of the special meeting of October 10th, 19~9 were read. Motion made
by Mr. Woolbrigh~, seconded by Mr. Ross and unaminously carried that
minutes be adopted as read.

Collector of Internal Revenue - Withholding $$98.70
Mr. J.W. Smith's water bill was discussed and it was decided
any consumption over 85~000 gallons be cut to 6¢ per 17000 gallons.
Motion was made by Mr. Ross

Following a discussion on City License fees motion was made by
Mr. Hood seconded by Mr. Shook and unamiously carried that out of
to~n solicitors pay $25.00 and residents pay $15.00.
Motion was made by Mr. Ross seconded by Mr. Woolbright and
unamiously carried to charge drive-in restaurants $12.50 for
twelve seating capacity and $17o~0 for over twelve seating capacity.
Motion Mas made by Ns. Ross seconded by Mr. Hood and unamiously
carried to pay Mr. John~Rigsby $~.00 for extra oolite work and also
to gay Mr. Lewis $~.00 (janitor at High School)-for cleaning up
after the hurricane.
Mr. Hoskin's application for Building Inspectors position was
read and tabled for further consideration.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
