INFORMATIONAL ITEMS FROM THE BOARD and flyers to ask for volunteers for the Kinetic Event and not all knew about it. She hoped they would attend the Kinetic Art and Symposium weekend and hoped some would volunteer. Ms. Levine advised she has been distributing the cards. She works at the Cornell in the surrounding areas and about art activities. She also pointed out they have bags they give to patrons and guests when they donate and the cards are in the bag, so the event is being circulated in Delray Beach. She was talking up the kinetic event. Chair Weiss mentioned posting and sharing social media for the kinetic event is helpful. She posted the kinetic event on Boynton Raw, which she does not normally do, and the event got good views and the online engagement was great. She is noticing more people are sharing and fellow Board Member Lauren Huff also shared something today on social media. She hoped all those on social media would continue to advertise the event and keep it going until the event is held including Facebook and Twitter. Ms. Coles-Dobay noted there is hashtag information on the save -the -date cards. Ms. Zell announced she attended the Pirate Fest and she enjoyed people playing with the sculptures. She also announced the garden is nearly ready at Poinciana Elementary School and they want to install a great art element. It will be a full children's garden and an organic vegetable also with a play area. She asked for help to create an art installation that children could work with or create. The Amanda James Gallery had been distributing the event handouts all the time. They did well during the Pirates Fest. Ms. James and Mr. Knill were talking up the event and the public was receiving the information well. V1. •' O" A. Oct. 17, 5:30 - 7:30pm Board "Super Hero" Dinner All agreed they had a great time and Ms. Levine loved the bags they distributed to the volunteers. Chair Weiss thought it was wonderful the City honored their board volunteers. The City also posted on the website if they knew anyone who was a super hero. (Mr. McQuire and Ms. Moodie arrived at 6:27 p.m.) US- WAV"givaiw" rjeov,# is desired. Ms. Moodie asked if the City was paying other exhibitors to attend and if not, why would the City pay Urban Conga. Ms. Coles-Dobay responded the City could pursue sponsorships, but the City is not giving other artists compensation. Urban Conga wanted $15,000 or $10,000 to attend. Ms. Zell said sometimes people do not have to give their work for free. Chair Weiss agreed and thought there was equal talent in many of the pieces they just saw. They are entertaining it for the Town Square and she hoped they could get Urban Conga for the Schoolhouse Children's Museum. It would be unfair to pay one exhibitor. Ms. Coles-Dobay commented it is not always fair, but if you want an artist that has exceptional work to draw people, it could be considered. There are some artists who are compensated more than others. They get the bigger draw and they have more sy-cectacu la r a rlwork. It is not ol-iouawkgzzok-m fl -Y6141 '-- given any compensation. Discussion followed the Board could accept all the pieces or oxclude some. A motion to entertain accepting the art for the indoor art exhibition was needed. Motion M#* = and she thought each developer could contribute funds. She suggested contactin McDonalds and a local dermatologist who appreciates art and has their name on th sponsor list. It would also give recognition to the developers. I N um, enbS umo-L aqj jo ved aq ol juem oqm e1cload io isu Quol e si ajaul *uB_,av*,pQ,,j.
