A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
OPPOSING THE PROPOSED REFERENDUM BY THE
PALM BEACH COUNTY COMMISSION CONCERNING
ENVIRONMENTALLY SENSITIVE LANDS
TENTATIVELY SCHEDULED FOR FEBRUARY 1991;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City
Commission that the Palm Beach County Commission intends to
pass an Ordinance scheduling a referendum for a Charter
Amendment concerning environmentally sensitive lands, which
endows the County with the power to regulate, protect,
I!preserve and acquire environmentally sensitive lands in Palm
IIBeach County; and
WHEREAS, the Code of Ordinances of the City of Boynton
Beach currently has provisions concerning environmentally
sensitive lands within the municipal boundaries of the City;
and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is interested in
continuing to legislate our issues concerning
environmentally sensitive lands within the municipal
boundaries of the City and the proposed County Charter
Amendment would divest the City of said powers and transfer
same to the County Commission; and

to provide a copy of this Resolution to the County

Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
